Think about it. IF he takes the lhw title from Jan, defends it against bones, defends MW against whittaker, that would be a resume rivaling khabib's. Obviously we need to wait before he retires to decide and these events certainly are not guarantees. But again, if he just takes the lhw belt and defends the mw belt a few times, that should be enough to surpass khabib's p4p legacy even without jones.

Tldr a 29-0 2 belt adesanya will be more impressive than a 29-0 khabib

No. There’s no elite fighters in his weight class or the one above now that Jones is gone. Guys like Whit and Jan aren’t gonna cut it.

IF* he gets the Jones fight then we’re in business.

Not after the embarrassing performance against yo ell

Who is he gonna fight in Ww? He wouldn’t fight his Nigerian brother in Usman. Could he even make 170?

No . Why? Because we have video and pictures of Iggy Lifeless KOd on the ground..It was kickboxing but the aura of invincibility will never match khabib. Also iggy took big damage against fat mexican forget his name

If his win streak and title defense streak goes on long enough, then what you are saying is irrelevant.

And he WILL take out Jones. By then it would not be disputable.

Naaah, he got beat up badly and barely scraped by gastelum, didnt do shit against romero you can't compare that to khabib

Yes because any fighters could “surpass” khabib as that idea of him being the goat is ridiculous

Yes. As great as Khabib was his resume is very light for a GOAT. If Izzy remains un beaten and goes an gets the LHW title as well then yeah I think he surpasses Beeb if he Beats Jan and then beats Holland at MW after.

Yes, if he gets to 30-0. He's already cleared out most of his division. If he beats Jan, Jones, and Khamzat along the way he'll have surpassed Khabib's accomplishments.

No

LHWs and HWs suck

No HW or LHW has ever been great in my book
Although historically on this sight I tend to agree with this narrative, there are some talented guys. And it's unfair to compare them to the small guys sometimes because of different body types.

With that said, should Adesanya be successful age the heavier guys consistently, it would definitely a major feather in his GOAT cap.

Gaethje, Poirier, McGregor, dos Anjos + supplementary wins over Barboza, Johnson, Bagov, Eldarov, Iaquinta and Healy

That's impressive and all-time great resume

How’s it irrelevant?

Put your fanboyism aside, Khabib competed in one of the most TALENTED divisions in MMA history... Adesanya competes in a division where 50 year olds on losing streaks and WW flunkies get title shots.

Again he’s got a chance if he keeps winning, but needs to keep winning. Don’t get ahead of yourself. Trust the process.

Khabib and Jones are worlds ahead of Adesanya right now.

I doubt it considering the competition in the divisions sucks but if he goes on a mean streak who knows. Fighting Jan and rematching Rob certainly won't cut it for me.

Yes, it's ridiculous to give extra credit for retiring early to avoid the phase of your career where opponents start figuring you out and/or you start slowing. It can start slow and gradual then hit a sudden crescendo like it did with Anderson.

With Khabib we just saw him take more damage than usual against Gaethje, including some power shots that his chin saved him from. Fanboys will deny it and pretend he's superhuman, but who is to say that the superior wrestler and power puncher Chandler wouldn't put him out with one of those.

Ask yourself this, if Jon Jones retired after his initial championship run where he looked absolute invincible, would that somehow have made his career better than sticking around and racking up all these title defenses over a whole new generation of fighters?

Khabib isn't even sticking around long enough to come across the next generation. It's not outlandish that someone like Tsarukyan would give him some major problems in two or three years from now. But unlike 37 year old Anderson facing the next up and comer from a new generation like Weidman, we'll never see it.

Well yeah assuming he continues to dominate and doesn't retire early with only 4 title wins.. lol at people who say Khabib is goat
