Adesanya Has Already Cemented Himself As the 2nd Greatest MW of all time

In two years in the UFC, Adesanya has tied Weidman for second longest winning streak in MW history with 9. He currently has a 20-0 record with a resume that includes wins over Whittaker, Romero, Costa, Brunson, Gastelum and Silva. He has cleared out all the championship contenders in his division, out of the current top 8 ranked contenders he has wins over 5 of them. His last two fights his opponents have been terrified of him to the point where they are scared to strike due to the fear of being countered.

Costa attempted more taunts and stuck out his tongue more times than attempting actual punches.

When he did attempt one his few punches in the fight, he immediately got countered and finished.


Whittaker came out super aggresive and got brutally KO’d and now his opponents don't want to suffer the same fate.

Silva had a 16 fight winning streak spanning over 6 years, Izzy is at 9 in two years. Considering how active he is and not having any legitimate threats on the horizon he has a good shot of beating Silva's winning steak and becoming MW GOAT.

Dan Henderson has a better career though in overall accolades.

izzy will overtake him though if he keeps going.

He is a great striker but with only 3 title defenses not sure you can make the statement he is #2 at 185 in history. See if he can hold his spot at the top for another 3-4 fight's.

Yup not to mention, his opponents are far superior to any of Anderson's opponents. Yoel , Whittaker, Costa, KG..What a lineup of killers.

MW division is by far the best division right now and it's not even close.

yeah but it was basically the lhw division though, the weight cap was 199 which is 14 lbs above modern day middleweight which falls in the LHW division weight class. It's be like saying Dan Henderson should be considered for modern day WW prestige because prides 183 lb weight class was called welterweight where he won the main belt, and gp belt in that class.

Of the 11 UFC MW champs, only Silva has had more than three defenses of the title.

The PRIDE Welterweight division only existed for three years, and the title was never defended.

The only other relevant MW divisions were the ones in Pancrase and Bellator. Ranking Nate Marquardt and Lombard/Shlemenko over Adesanya is laughable.

He's easily the second best UFC MW champ, and is young enough to overtake Henderson in total quality wins, especially considering the number of bullshit decisions on Hendo's record.
