People were talking trash against dana for booking the guy for two fights in a roll, gerald was supposed to be a tough test, but now he sucks.
Just make your mind people is he fighting cans or legit competition? If everybody looked this good against "cans" them everybody would have hype.

If you haven’t noticed by now it doesn’t end. There’s still people saying GSP, Fedor, and Silva are “cans”. I’m sorry to tell you this, but you’ll never have the “I told you so” moment, except for yourself.

Are you sure you are not mixing up who said what? Could it be that those who said that Gerald, a fighter that loses every second fight in the UFC, isn't a great fighter are the same one's that say that Khamzat has only faced "cans"?

I wouldn't say that the fighters that Khamzat has faced so far are cans, but let's keep it real they do belong to the lower part of the UFC roster in their weight class.
  • John Phillips is 1-4 in the UFC (1-3 prior to losing to Khamzat)
  • Rhys McKee is 0-1 in the UFC (0-0 prior to losing to Khamzat)
  • Gerald Meerschaert is 6-6 in the UFC (6-5 prior to losing to Khamzat and 2-5 in his last 7 fights)

When it's time, pure and simple. Don't rush.

Calling him the future champ might be premature, but there's nothing wrong with being excited about a young prospect. Every GOAT was a young prospect at some point.

FFS, no-one said Saturday night would be a tough test, just a step up in class from the scrubs Khamzat has so far faced.

Everyone knew he'd win, although admittedly few thought he'd win in the manner he did.

If it wasn't for the shit he himself says and the idiot sherdog posters desperately looking for another bandwagon to jump on then most would say he's progressing nicely.

And every fighter looks good against low level opposition and gets hyped, just most then struggle when they finally face actual opposition. Perry has said that he was once in khamzats position, crushing cans and getting hyped up by fans and critics so let's all wait and see how he does rather than give him every ufc title already.

MMA fans are extremely hyperbolic, jaded and stupid.
Some people hate him for no other reason than him being Caucasian and to hipster flex that they are not on the hype train.
Then, some fools are already talking about a title shot.
Some people in the middle are now commenting on his God-mode striking while all we saw was one excellent punch. Truth is, in other older fights Khamzat swings wildly and with his chin out. Maybe he fixed that, but otherwise, a young aggressive guy like him is asking to get KO'ed by a heavy puncher with a compact guard.

I, for one, am really hyped for Khamzat but would prefer a slow grooming because he is NOT yet the future champ at MW and WW that everybody is foaming about.

Meh. He seems good, but it’s hard to know what his ceiling is. He doesn’t stand out as a generational talent like Jon Jones, but he could be a future champion. He deserves respect for taking advantage of his opportunities thus far, but you’ve got idiots on here saying he’s going to be the first triple champ. It’s hard to imagine him doing much against Usman or Adesanya, at least with what we’ve seen so far against cans. Of course haters are going to be present in response to crazy hype.

Maybe only time. Whiney threads won’t help. It rather enforces the doubt.

They already made up their minds man... and it is telling that they are now calling Maia a can. They learned their lesson from GM3... now they don't even say "he's gonna be exposed" and instead they just skip to trashing his opponent. Now they're trashing Demian, even though the same people said "he loses to anyone ranked" ... well Maia is ranked but now they're saying it is a gimme fight.

Long story short, they are haters so who cares. They'd say Kamaru and Colby are untested hype job cans if Khamzat was scheduled to fight them.

I'm no hater, but I'll believe the Khamzat hype train if he fights platinum perry next & then Damien Maia.

Only miserable cunts could hate on a lot guy that gives highly entertaining fights every other week.

if you don’t like Khamzat, you’re not a real fight fan.

Winners don't get credit. Look at khabib. It's always into the next.

I think jones is the only dude that gets credit

He gets huge credit for those first 2, but the last fight was weird, maybe the hype on Khazmat made Gerald freeze up cause he did literally everything wrong and pretty much anyone throwing a good right in that situation would have had the same result.
