Knew this was coming after that story about him getting deported from Ireland. If they don't want him in EU countries despite being a Swedish national, there's no way in hell that he was going to get a US visa.

Khabib's father, who was a respected athlete and coach, could never get a US visa.

Going to be interesting to see how much Dana can leverage his relationship with Trump on this one.

From what he's said previously, he was detained while trying to get into Ireland.. despite having a Swedish passport.

So, it's hard to believe he'll ever be allowed to enter the US.

Edit : noticed that the OP, directly referenced this.. lol.

Donald better gets Khamzat's visa ready if he doesn't want to get smashed!

No worries, Dana will call his buddy...

As you say, if Dana really had that degree of influence, Abdulmanap would have secured a visa in a heartbeat..

It never happened.

They can't do any infinite number of those cards.

The main reason reason that the Yas Island cards happened was because the UFC got huge subsidies from the government in Abu Dhabi to put them on.
Khabib vs Gaethje will likely be on fight island..

That's speculation.

The venue hasn't been officially announced yet.

At present, there aren't anymore scheduled fights on Yas Island.

I can obviously see them doing UFC 254 on Yas Island for Khabib, but I seriously doubt that's going to be a long-term venue for the UFC.

But if they do another cluster of events in Abu Dhabi around UFC 254, then Chimaev will have a few more opportunities to fight this year.

Same shit people said about Khabib. We don’t know which way it’ll go but I’ll put my chips on him mauling Usman within 12 months

No, it's not. His early UFC career has been nothing like Khabib's.

Khabib's first half-dozen UFC fights were against other grapplers. That's why he had so much hype with hardcores early on.

Says nothing about the reason why

Couldn't it just be due to the covid shit?

Swedes aren't really allowed to travel all willy nilly since they never quarantined

Plenty of fighters from countries with strict quarantine policies have been able to come to the US during the lockdown.

Most notably Hooker and Adesnya, both from New Zealand, which has basically stamped out COVID for the time being and has travel restrictions on the US for regular people.
