Paige is a good fighter, one of the more exciting female fighters out there, so patronizing her as simply an Instagram model isn't fair.
However, she is a +625 underdog for a reason and were this fight taking place at strawweight instead of flyweight the line would probably be +750 around now; and still will close at around +700. Even hardcore MMA followers sometimes ignore undercard WMMA/Mens Flyweight fights and only take notice once a bout is on the main card so future title contenders like Ribas fly under the radar.
Ribas is a -925 favorite because she has won every round against every opponent she has fought in the UFC thus far in a dominant fashion. Her second UFC fight was against Mackenzie Dern, the most highly credentialed female BJJ practicioner in the UFC, so we have seen how she responds to the highest level grappling competition she will ever face in a fight.
We also have seen she is a high ability striker, she throws at high volume and has cardio to maintain a consistent pace for all three rounds. Her striking defense though is the strongest part of her standup game as she is fluid in her movement and able to avoid the ovwhelming majority of strikes thrown her way; which has frustrated her opponents. With that said, we haven't seen knockout power and her strikes dont seem to have the power to stun opponents, though we have seen them bruised and bloodied.
No one though should place straight wagers on this fight, the return is just not there, but that doesn't mean the line itself is too high and this is a good fight for parlays as the result isn't in doubt. Paige and her are simply at different levels, there is no area in which Paige is a stronger fighter; and thats why the line is so high.
Wei Li Zhang fought objectively softer competition during her first three UFC fights and did not look as impressive as Ribas; before ultimately fighting for the title in her 5th UFC fight. I think Dana and co are setting up a future match between the winner of Rose/Andrade and Ribas, hence why both fights are on the main card back to back.
