The UFC posted a highlight video of Eddie Wineland and it reminded me of how much a bad ass he was in his prime. He fell off a bit but when he was in his prime he was a legit contender with great hands, striking IQ and defensive wrestling.

John Dodson - was a mini Vitor Belfort and looked unbeatable before MM had to rely on a superior gas tank to win.
Lyoto Machida (MW) - Machida comfortable beat Mousasi in a masterful striking performance and was looking refreshed by his drop to MW but people discredit him to make Weidmans wins look weak.
Mark Hominick - Hominick was great until his best friend and coach died. His career plummeted and I think people forgot how good of a striker he was.
Gabriel Gonzaga - the guy head kick KO'd the head kick king and people claim he was an easy fight for Couture. Gonzaga has always been legit.

Is there any other title challengers who you don't think get the credit they deserve as a worthy contender?

Kenny Florian?
We talked a lot of shit about him losing every chance at a title he had, but a quick look at some of his wins:

Sam Stout Submission (rear-naked choke)
Joe Lauzon TKO (punches and elbows)
Din Thomas Submission (rear-naked choke)
Joe Stevenson Submission (rear-naked choke)
Takanori Gomi Submission (rear-naked choke)
Diego Nunes Decision (unanimous)

He really had tough champions to fight. Bad style match ups.
BJ was better at BJJ and that's his style.

Aldo is the GOAT anti wrestler.
