There are no feeder orgs in the USA to develop talent.

Bellator is a rival, an equal and opposite.

Robbie Lawler, Woodley, Werdum, Dan Cormier, Rockhold, Overeem.

Jose Aldo, Cerrone, Ben Henderson, Pettis.

They all need a place outside of the UFC to develop their trade. The UFC isn’t developing new stars, prospects are getting their asses kicked and leaving.

They were pushing Sage Northcutt so hard. He should have came in as a champion from a feeder org.

Conor was a cage rage champion in two weight classes when he came in. He had a lot of hype.

If he started in the UFC as a young athlete, making 10x10 and getting his ass kicked by RDA, he never would have grown.

We need smaller orgs for people to grow their talent. That’s why Heavyweight is so empty.

Ever think they absorb these orgs because those orgs can't pay their bills?

Bellator is not an equal. It has a couple fighters that would do very well in the UFC. I’d love seeing Patricio and Lima come over. But they lack the name recognition, volume of shows, international presence and depth of talent.

It’s more like a little brother that deserves recognition but isn’t nearly as accomplished.

LFA, CFFC, Titan FC, etc are all doing their thing in different regions of the U.S. hell, when was the last time UFC bought anyone out? Strikeforce? That was a while ago.

They develop talent through Ultimate Fighter, and bring in some of the best talent in the world to compete at the highest possible level. Since they’re a promotion and not a league theyre not going to appeal to the idea of having a “feeder organization” when there’s money to be made.

This is actually best for us as fans, because now we get to see how other orgs develop talent and can confidently determine whether or not they are capable of competing in the UFC.

You are mistaken in considering Bellator as an equal if this were truly the case only then would it make more sense for the UFC to have a “feeder org” because theyd be competing to survive against Bellator, which is clearly not the case. You can ding the UFC for their business practices but they’re importance of their success and vitality for the sport of MMA is quite obvious.

UFC looks to be drawing fighters from the regional circuits via their Contender series cheaper more economical.

They have not done it in a while, thing is, top talent goes to the UFC, its rare someone (an actual top talent) goes to other org, the only one could be DJ, who was sent there, not really went on his own like others that have gone to Bellator and no other has been as accomplished as him and leave while still in prime shape.

DJ wasn’t sent there. He was given the option, and he took it. Nobody forced him.

I agree with this sentiment. It's been awhile since it's happened. There is still Bellator, KSW, One Championship out there.

Sound like semantics to me honestly, a guy that chooses to go elsewhere when is out of contract, they offer one but he still chooses to go, thats an option, like Machida did, being asked if you are cool being send there and saying yes, is not the same thing.

Bellator is minor league, the UFC major league. Bellator only looks like an equal because the UFC is run like bush league. Gegard is in Bellator only because the UFC released him. You wouldn't see something like that in a legitimate organization. E.g. the NBA. The only time you will see a LeBron caliber player in, say, Europe is when he's way past his prime and barely makes it in the NBA, if at all.

That Gegard is willing to fight anyone at any time is of zero value to the UFC. The UFC is the product, not the fighters. Conor, the Kim Kardashian of MMA, is the one exception.

Lol you casuals are so cute. I remember when they said the same about SF. Only for all those SF fighters to come through and prove the exact opposite. Keep going though buddy. You’re not as stupid as you sound. I think you’re on to something.

That is COMPLETE BULLSHIT Demetrious Johnson asked his management to go to ONEFC because he was unhappy with his pay in the UFC and his management worked out a deal to have him traded.
