It is 2020, do we really have dimensional champs?

Let's see ...

Stipe good stand up and ok grappling
Jones well rounded
Adesanya - the first one !! can he grapple? we will find out
Khabib - the second one ! can he strike more efficiently?
Volk - well rounded
Cejudo - well rounded

but is there a real one dimensional champ?

Ah, there he is !

I guess Khabib is the best example. Usman at 2nd.

Mma will never evolve the way some kids think it will. Specialists will always do good.

You didn't think this one through did you ts?

He grapplefucked woodley for 5 rounds then had a striking fight with Colby.

Stipe ???
the dude is a Cleveland Golden Gloves boxing champion and a NCAA Division I wrestler.

That's very far from "good" stand up and "ok" grappling
Can you hate on him any more????

You cant be champion not being well rounded. If you are primarily a wrestler your stand up has to be decent enough in case you run into another wrestler or grappler. If you are a striker, you have to have good takedown defense.

Stipe's wrestling is about as complex as Usman's boxing. Even the though he is D1 his shots aren't as complex as some of the highest level wrestlers at HW. He was able to wrestle fuck Francis cause he combined his boxing with takedowns.
IMO I would list Stipe more as a strict boxer most of the time.

this does not contradict what i am saying. usman is a very good grappler , but a bad striker. proved against the punching bag colby? cmon

Can Khabib really be considered 1 dimensional?

I think folks are lumping all of Khabibs diverse skillsets into the "grappling" bucket and then lazily calling him one dimensional.

Khabib has mastered (either very good or great at) the following:

Takedowns
Tae kwondo based tripping techniques
Top control
Transitions on the mat
Bottom/guard game
Grappling
GNP

That's hardly one dimensional. Which explains why nobody can either replicate or figure out his game.

IDK man. Stipe is exceptionally well rounded. His submission game may suck but his wrestling game is excellent within MMA standards

He got outstruck for 2 rounds, and also COLBY was out striking.

COLBY.
Colby has hands, what are you talking about?
Both Usman AND Colby impressed a lot of people. Colby was way more dynamic, Usman stayed simple, technical and landed hard.
Did you watch?
I smell a hater
