Conor haters - "Conor could only prove himself by defending his FW belt against lower ranked Frankie"

Conor fans - "But Eddie was the champion, defeating him surely had to the bigger challenge?"

Conor haters - "Whatever, Conor doesn't deserve title shots"

Conor fans - "Why not?"

Conor haters - "Because he's not on their level, he should fight other contenders and earn the right to fight the best"

Conor fans - "So if the champ is the best and the highest level, beating the champ must be more difficult than beating contenders?"

Conor haters - "No"

Because champions don’t beat contenders anymore, they just sit back and contemplate super fights and complain over money now. It’s just nice to see somebody do their job for them

Eddie was never the best. Conrat just lucked out Khabib was sidelined with injuries.

You beat contenders to earn title shots. The last time he fought a contender was Mendes. He deserves nothing at LW by fighting irrelevant fights and he damn sure doesn't deserve a title fight at 170.

Matt Serra beat GSP in a fluke which is only brought up as a knock against GSP while Tony Ferguson put together a helluva win streak without winning the true belt. Tony's streak is far more impressive than a flash in the pan to me.

the funniest part about it is he beat mendes on short notice with 80% acl tear before he got his FW title shot after hose ducked him hard. Sherdog will never recover from the mendes and aldo fights. So much salt. So many tears. Then he lost to Diaz and everyone had Diaz avatar we’re old school fans of Diaz, kind of like everyone loves khabib now. As soon as Diaz lost to McGregor sherdog shit on him.

The Eddie Alvarez was demoralizing for them. All of sherdog was picking Eddie to wrestle fuck him like Eddie did to Pettis. His performance made them go straight TDS.

everyone was a mayweather fan for awhile and knew everything about boxing. Now sherdog is just an echo chamber of haters talking him getting carried lol, when Mike Tyson himself gives mcgregor mad props

Losing to mcgregor is the worst thing that can happen to a fighter. You instantly always sucked or out of prime or some hilarious excuse.

why does mcgregor piss you off so much? I get a ton of enjoyment pissing you off it’s great. That’s probably why I hang around

You know stepping up and taking the higher belt as well is better than one shitty defense right?

Depends on who the champ of the division is, example being paper champions like Bisping at the time he was champ or Stipe who's currently champ but loses to the likes of Ngannou 2.0, Blaydes, DC etc

The odds of 'Fighter A' winning any given fight, even against a champion, are clearly better than the odds of having to go through several top fighters and then that champ. That is not my opinion, that is a *basic* probability calculation...never mind that your position also assumes that the champ is the best in the division or the hardest fight for 'Fighter A'.

Don't think so? Then consider this:
- Khabib was a top LW contender when Conor beat Eddie...and he *smashed* Conor after that.
- Look at the contender list when GSP beat Bisping...who thinks GSP runs through several of Romero, Izzy, Whittaker, Jacare, and Rockhold and then beats Bisiping?

try again, McFanboy.

Khabib had 1 top 5 win from 2 years before. Eddie had 3 in a row in the last year... including KOing in the 1st the guy Khabib decisioned.

Yes, Eddie was then the top fighter in the division.

I agree. Conor beat Mendes at FW. He doesn't need to fight any more contenders. That win proves he can beat contenders so why waste the time? He needs set up with title shots so incase he wins the UFC can really market the hell out of it. I want an 8x10 photo of Conor holding 5 belts.

Conor actually predicted Khabib would be champ when he would go up to fight the champ at 155 but it was Eddie. Well would have been RDA if RDA didn't pull out. The Conor that showed up against Eddie would have given Khabib a much tougher fight imo.

Never defended a belt was a paper champion.

Beats Aldo with a miracle punch due to Aldo acting stupid. Denys him a rematch at 145 refuses to defend the belt and holds up the division.

Beats eddie in a fantastic performance refuses to defend the belt hides for almost 2 years holding up the division.

Gets mauled by khabib and crys about getting a rematch while at the same time refusing to face top guys in the devision to earn his rematch.

Guys just bad for the sport aspect of mma. Great for drama and bringing in new fans.

Glad to see his days of special treatment from the UFC seem to be coming to a end.
