.

I know a karate dojo practicing in a cemetery to gain ghost powers or whatever the fuck that means.

Considering that they are not UFC champs then I take it or didn't work.

Maybe not a ghost story but this freaked me out at the time.

I was upstairs and my dog suddenly bolted down stairs aggressively. He does this anytime anyone knocks the door.

I didn't hear any knocking though. I next hear my dog go from barking to hearing his paw sounds excitedly bouncing around, like someone was interacting with him/playing. I heard a woman's voice say something which sounded just like my mums voice. Which had a settling affect on the dog.

I come down stairs assuming it was just my mum letting herself in and expected to see her playing with the now excited dog.

No one there at all!!

I actually checked all the doors and searched the house freaked out. As I definitely hear a womans voice inside the house.

Not sure if this qualifies as a ghost story but since it involves hiking as well here it goes:

In the summer of 2017 my ex and I went to Havasupai Falls (which is an Indian reservation in Arizona), to get there you have to park your car and hike 10 miles down, we camped there for 2-3 days, the hike leads to some of the most beautiful waterfalls I've ever seen, keep in mind you have to start hiking early in the morning to avoid the daytime Arizona heat...

On the way back from the trip we decided to start hiking at 1:30am, the way back is uphill so the hike is way harder, given the fact you are carrying water/food/camping gear/tent etc... so we are hiking this road in pitch black we have lanterns with us, at some point it felt like we couldn't find our way back, you can hear a river in front of us so I flashed my light at the river and there was a native American sitting on a horse in the middle of the river giving us his back (this is at like 3am), I'm so confused as to why he was there at that time, I flash my light at him and I asked "are we going the right way?" to which he doesn't even acknowledge us , and then my ex was like "don't flash the light at him", eventually I see a bridge to the left and we keep hiking... About 15- 20 mins later we hear a really loud noise, my ex grabbed me and was like "what was that?" to this day I can't describe what the sound was, then we hear the sound of a horse, not going to lie I felt intimidated by the whole situation, given that there's no clear sings as to where to go during the hike.

Eventually we made it back to our car, but I am not sure what to make of the man in the horse and the loud sound that followed.

Wow that’s scary!!

They say that dogs and other animals have sharper senses so he may have seen something

Fascinating story, alot old Native areas are famous for being haunted. In Mexico there is a ton of stories like that too about hearing horses galloping in the night and strange noises.

So it could also be some weird space/time shit goin' on too. People tend to have this idea that these experiences involve conscious entities, when it could be just a snapshot of the past, like a photo with overexposure.

Anyway I lived in a haunted house as a kid. It was a stressful house. Abusive stepdad. I was the only one that slept in the basement.

One night I got one of the the warmest most confortable feelings Ive ever felt in my life. My head (the top one, not the crotch one) was being stroked gently as a womans voice kept repeating that its going to be ok. When I turned around nothing was there. Interesting after effect was I wasnt afraid of the dark down there after that.

Upstairs, same house, my brothers bed was shaken violently on several occasions and I still remember his terrified screams about it. The upstairs one also ripped the covers off my mom and stepdad while they were sleeping on several occasions.

No explanation to this day, my mom, brother and I are certain something was going on. However over the years Ive theorized that due to the stress of the environment it could have been weird manifestations of our psychology. Or as I said earlier some unproven and possibly unprovable oddities happening in the fabric of reality itself.

I know someone who said they saw their son walk down the stairs and out the front door....this was a few days after he died of an asthma attack (he died after his girlfriend refused to call for an ambulance.. but that's another story). Both the mother and strep father saw him.

When I was younger I worked a security job at this theme park. I was working with another security guard one night and on property we had an outdoor mini golf course. The golf course had been closed for years and it was very overgrown. We heard what sounded like a little girl laughing over on the golf course. It was loud and clear. Went on for like 15 sec and as we got closer it stopped.

I had always heard other stories from people who worked there about things that happened or things they heard. They always involved a girl screaming or a girl calling their name.

For 2 weeks after this I was pretty shook up at night there

Will share my moms experience from when she was younger.

Alrite so my mom is old and from a very rural part of Mexico.

She grew up in a small town with a few small farms. They had no running water or electricity. She and my Grandma would wake up very early every morning before sunrise to cook lunch for my uncles to take with them to work in the fields.

So my Mom told me she woke up one morning very early. My grandma was setting up the wood fire stove and my mom went out the house to the small road that took you to the outhouse(outdoor toilet). She told me as she was walking by the dark road she saw a boy sleeping near one of the big trees. He was laying next to it.

At first she thought it was her brother because he was a drunk and would always go out to the local cantina to drink and come back late at night. He sometimes would forget the keys and get locked out. So he would sleep outside(small town it was safe to do stuff like that)

Anyways she told me that she called out to him thinking it was her brother sleeping. She was gonna scold him for forgetting keys. He wouldn’t respond. As she got closer she saw that it wasnt her brother.

She kept getting closer and closer. She told me it was a young man, he had a button up shirt and some pants but she said it was hard to see him it was still dark out. She got closer enough to get a good look at him.

Then she realized it wasnt a person...She said you see his figure and clothes well but couldnt see his face, like it was blurred out by shadow

She got freaked the hell out and ran back up the road to my grandma. They came back to the area but he was gone.

She only told me her experience once when I was in High School. I kept asking her to tell me again about it but she gets mad. Doesnt like to talk about it or think about it.

In before jgarner comes in and loses his mind over people having some light hearted discussions.

I grew up in a house built in the 1890s. It was originally a hospital. Shitloads of people died in it. Some fucked up sounds have scared the shit out of me.
