Quintet Ultra utilizes a single-elimination format, where competitors are eliminated by a loss or draw, with the winner of each match remaining on the mat. A team loses when all five of its members are eliminated. Singles matches will follow the Quintet rule set. We do not know which teams will be facing one another until the event starts.

Team UFC: Anthony Smith, Anthony Johnson, Sean O'Malley, Clay Guida and Gilbert Burns
vs.
Team Pride: Kazushi Sakuraba, Takanori Gomi, Gregor Gracie, Hector Lombard and Yves Edwards

Team Strikeforce: Gilbert Melendez, Jake Shields, Muhammed Lawal, Gesias Cavalcante and Renato Sobral
vs.
Team WEC: Chad Mendes, Glover Teixeira, Mark Munoz, Cub Swanson and James Krause

Singles Matches:
Gordon Ryan vs. Alexey Oleynik
Cynthia Calvillo vs. Danielle Kelly
Craig Jones vs. Fredson Paixao

Rule set:
Submission ONLY
, in the event of a draw, both fighters are eliminated.
8 minute bouts, unless weight difference > 20 KG (and fighter request), then 4 minute bouts.
Winners stay on to face the next opponent, and they go until they lose or the other team is out.
In the event of stalling, fighters are warned (yellow cards without purse deductions), and three warnings is a DQ loss.

This shits off the chain. I really hope the UFC guys win just for the laughs, but strikeforce should cruise to an easy win if they can get Saku and Gracie out with only 1 or 2 tries each

Team UFC is weak lol, I would be shocked if they won, but hey you never know they might win.

On Paper Team Strikeforce got the best submission guys

Burns is the best dude on the UFC team by a country mile....possibly out all the teams as well aside from Shields. I think Guida, Smith, and O'Malley are crafty enough to avoid getting subbed.......but Rumble. Ohhh boy. Someone is taking his neck home.

I'm honestly pretty excited to see how the WEC guys get along. Munoz will gas within 2 minutes, that dude got fat as fuck after fighting but I'm sure it'll be fun to watch

Team WEC is the dark horse, they will win.

It was such a mistake for me to get rid of fight pass last month... first I hear they upgraded the interface and now I'm gonna miss quintet ULTRA. I'm a moron<DCrying><6><Deported1>

Alright, we have the brackets! I will update the first post.

It will be:
UFC vs. Pride
SF vs. WEC

Rooting for WEC, but not sure they'll do any good. They're probably the most athletic of the bunch tho.

Mark Munoz also looks like two people stuffed into one shirt

The lineups are as follows:

UFC ----- Pride
Sean O'Malley ----- Takanori Gomi
Anthony Johnson ----- Hector Lombard
Clay Guida ----- Gregor Gracie
Anthony Smith ----- Yves Edwards
Gilbert Burns ----- Kazushi Sakuraba

WEC ----- Strikeforce
Chad Mendes ----- JZ Cavalcante
Mark Munoz ----- Jake Shields
Cub Swanson ----- King Mo Lawal
Glover Teixeira ---- Gilbert Melendez
James Krause ----- Babalu Sobral

Craig Jones vs. Fredson Paixao will kick off the card, then the two team fights.
Match 4 will be Cynthia Calvillo vs. Danielle Kelly.
Match 5 will be Gordon Ryan vs. Alexey Oleynik.

The event will wrap with the finals, pitting the UFC/Pride winner against the WEC/Strikeforce winner.
