Even if we assume Colby's premise is valid (which I think is absurd), it doesn't make him more 'American' than Marty, as Colby himself didn't serve in the military. You don't get to take credit for shit other people do, sorry.

Also the phrase 'more American' is meaningless without a definition. Marty is an immigrant who was nationalized and has reached the pinnacle of his chosen profession. That's about as an American story as they come.
