The anderson fight was this year...The Vettori fight just a year and a half ago.


Either Anderson is still a monster or Israel is gonna get exposed soon.

How depressed were you when he beat Whittaker? Actually not beat Whittaker, but demolish Whittaker without any trouble
 
Barely beat Anderson? Lol wtf? Two of the 3 judges scored that 30-27
 
He looked bad in the Vettori fight, but these things happen, and beating Anderson (even not a prime one) is still a great thing to have on your record.
 
And now he's champ and looks like he's gonna be one for a while

Israel hasn't been full time MMA training that long. Vettori was one of his first real fights and Vettori is pretty solid. You can see huge improvements from fight to fight with Israel. Look how much better his wrestling looked against Brunson and Kelvin, who are better wrestlers than Vettori.

Anderson is pretty far past it but it's mainly his chin, cardio, and mobility. Only the mobility of those three was a liability in the fight. Anderson is also a pretty strong matchup against Izzy.

Vettori was juiced to the gills and still did fuckall in that fight, anderson was a sparring match, beat the brakes off gastelum, then annihilated and humiliated a tough as nails champ.

Israel took it easy on Silva just like Cormier did.
 
You could have gone with the 'look how much he improved'-angle instead of 'he is about to be exposed'-angle.

Anyway Vettori is very underrated.

Anyway yes, he had to lose some fights but the fanboysm here is too much for start any kind of simple discussion.

Until his UFC debut he was a kickboxer who did MMA on the side. He started training MMA full time after joining the UFC, it's hard to knock a kickboxer for getting out grappled in his second fight in the UFC. I don't get why people still Mention the Vettori fight when he destroyed Brunson afterwards.
