What is next for the BMF division?

We are days away from the inaugural BMF title match between Nate Diaz and George Masvidal. But after this fight, what is next for the undisputed BMF title?

While UFC has not yet officially announced the rankings for the BMF division, it seems like it is loaded from top to bottom with legit fighters.

even Niko Price said in an interview he would rather hold the BMF title over the WW title

who else will be in the top of this division? is this the best division of all time? it seems to be taking the best of all fighters between LW and MW

it might detract the casuals and make them only want to see BMF fights. Who will want to see Gregor Gillespie vs. Islam Mackachev after they watch real fights?

this is bigger than Tupac vs. Biggie. i just hope there are no gang fights or incidents that break out. these guys are too real

That BMF belt is just a marketing move to sell a MSG's event, to create some hype around the main event. Dana already told that it won't defended, there is only one way to keep that belt alive and it's if Nate wins then take McGregor. It's a lot of "if" but I think it's the only way for that belt to be defended.

maybe so. but at one point, Conor was the guy fighting 3-4 times a year, had an exciting style, and didnt give a shit what weight division it was. He had no reason to have to step up 2 weight classes to fight Nate Diaz, a larger man who was a journeyman the first time, but he did. Jon Jones refused to fight Chael Sonnen on like 2 months notice

They need to keep the BMF Belt going if for no other reason it annoys the hell out of UFC fans who still want to pretend this is some legitimate sport when its become an a business where entertainment matters more than skill and merit.

Remember when Guitar Hero came out and all these unknown guitar players would come out of the woodwork and repeatedly remind everyone that just because someone was good at guitar hero, it did not mean they knew how to play a guitar? Yeah, no shit, people already knew that but every sad sack who never quite made it in a successful band or was overlooked by all the fun loving video game players had to say something about Guitar Hero. Yes, IF Nate wins and IF he fights Conor again. Then what ? The winner probably have a shot for the title.

If Masvidal wins the BMF, he fights Usman/Colby.
If Conor wins the BMF, he fights Khabib/Tony.
If Nate wins the BMF, defend it against Conor and doesn't disappear (you know how the Diaz bros are), he fights Khabib/Tony/Usman/Colby.
