11 win streak vs 13 win streak
also, Leo Santos just called out Khabib

This is an upgraded version of Makhachev vs Ramos

Santos is better at BJJ and MMA than Ramos and Gillespie is a better version of Islam

Davi is better than Santos when it comes to BJJ (2 times ADCC champion) Santos only has bronze from 2001
Gillespie isn't as proven as Islam in MMA his best win is Yancy Medeiros (6-6-1 in UFC) and a split decision over Sidney Outlaw (where he got out grappled a bit)

Davi is more accomplished in BJJ than Demian Maia

Would be interesting. Santos went against GSP in a BJJ match and tooled him fairly quickly. That being said he needs a top win, actually a couple of them and I don't see him getting the win against someone with good striking who won't take it to the ground. Olivera would be a good next fight.

Excellent matchup but imho Gillespie should think about starting to finally climb the rank. This fight does nothing for him in that regard.

Put him in a fight against Cerrone and we'll see how good he is

Thank you. I was about to write the same.

It's a shame the UFC didn't sign Outlaw.
He is a training partner for several UFC fighters, was one of the best regional fighters, won on the Contender series, has a great record and actively campaigned for getting signed to the UFC.

Instead they sign Marcos Mariano, and Outlaw fights Huerta in Bellator...

Give Santos a top 10, why not, he needs to get moving if he's going to make a run at the title he's not getting any younger. Well rounded guy, dangerous everywhere but I can't see him having much for the top level guys

Doesn't Santos only come around like once every few years or so?
