Conor is the worst matchup for Gaethje on this planet, a truly elite precision striker that without the threat of the takedown is simply on a different level than any other MMA fighter we've ever seen, as evidenced by him making a mockery of the standup of such great strikers as Jose Aldo, Max Holloway, and Nate Diaz in the rematch (Conor lopsidedly beat on his head the first two rounds until he got tired).

JG on the other hand is the nightmare matchup for Khabib, the guy that literally can never be allowed to fight a D1 all-american. The UFC and Abdulmanap will simply not have it. This is being set up perfectly for Conor to destroy JG and eliminate this growing threat. There is absolutely no reason JG wouldn't simply wait for a title shot against the winner of Khabib vs Ferguson (IF Tony accepts Dana's offer, of course...another creepy talking point and different matter altogether), yet all of a sudden out of nowhere there was a clear agenda to push for this fight by the company immediately after JG beat Cowboy.

CONOR ISNT COMING BACK...GET OVER IT

And if he does, he's not beating anyone in the top 5

Yeh Justin D1 wrestler who get's taken down by Alvarez and Poirier, truly elite American wrestling on display getting double legged by DUSTIN FUKIN POIRIER LOOOOOOL

Tibau got taken down by Jamie Varner yet Khabib couldn't do it a single time. Every fight is different.

I dunno, I think Conor would fight JG purely for the gate it would do. I doubt Khabib really needs protecting from anyone.

Tony seems to be next for Khabib regardless. Who knows, he might win and all of this becomes moot.

Khabib would beat the dog shit out of 6-7 years ago Khabib let alone Tibau so...

But even then he was a way better takedown artist than Varner. Anderson Silva took down Sonnen, Gus took down Jones, Brunson took down Romero, etc. By your logic Cormier would have ragdolled Jones for 5 rounds and Weidman would have done the same to Romero.

Why would they protect Khabib? He seems to want to retire soon.

Best case scenario for the UFC is Conor beating Khabib and being champ again. Mucho dinero

Go away with your conspiracy theories Alex Jones.

Beating a 13 year old Holloway, KOing a reckless Aldo in 13 seconds and being reduced to takedowns against Diaz = making a mockery of their stand up, it seems.

If you think about it, Conner really has no legit wins.

Poirier almost finished Khabib just a matter of the right referee.

First of all....you think Gaethje would rather sit a year than fight Conor? You know Khabib isn't fighting twice between now and Ramadan.
Second of all, Gaethje called out Conor well before the Cowboy fight.
Third, we should be celebrating that Conor isn't getting an immediate title fight, if indeed he ever fights again. But, if he ever does fight again, you know it's not going to be against some lower-top-10 guy like Al I or Kevin Lee. A #4 Gaethje would be the perfect compromise, frankly.

Basically, you're conclusions are all out of whack and show a total lack of context.

I rewatched Gaethje vs Johnson last night and I must say that Gaethje's striking has gotten a ton better, he really learned from his two losses.

I would not complain if Gaethje vs Conor gets made, it'll be a fun fight. I even like Gaethje's chances; yeah he's gonna get hurt, but Michael Johnson hits far harder and he overcame that plus his striking has gotten so much better since then. Gaethje never overextended himself the way Alvarez does. And we all know if Conor doesn't starch him within the first two rounds, it'll be a long painful night for Conor.

If you're right, then this is the sort of bout Conor needs at the moment.

What is this, tumblr? tone down the fan-fiction shit.
