No, Faber actually won and defended titles in a premier organization. The WEC was by far the top org for lighter MMA weight classes before being folded into the UFC. The UFC bantamweight and featherweight belts are extensions of the WEC belt lineage, and the WEC champs were simply crowned UFC champs.

So while I get what you are saying about Faber losing many title shots in his UFC career, it is only fair to point out that he enjoyed a time period as WEC champ in which he was considered the consensus best FW in the world.
 
He should just stick to being the gate keeper for guys like Perry and Hernandez, top 5 guys aren’t for him anymore.
 
I love Cowboy but I just couldn't see any fire in him today. It's almost like he's in the mindset of 'I've made it' and he's happy with what he has in life now.

He wont ever come as close as he did against Benson the 1st time they fought where he arguably won and even that was an interim title

As exciting as Cowboy is hes just not a championship caliber fighter
