Fight only proved that DC loses if he gets into an ego battle
Stope got owned and looked almost like he might get stopped in rd 1.
Stipe showed nothing that he can actually stop DC fron executing his gameplan if he actually chooses to stick to it.
DC chose to stand and box.
He was the king maker or breaker - Stipe was just taken for the ride depending on what DC wanted to do. Luckily he chose to fight Miocic where he had a chance to win and fair play for capitalizing and exploting two weaknesses - DC's ego and body shots.

The card will forever be called "UFC 241, DC's Ego"

He showed he can whether the storm, get held down for a bit, get beat up on the ground for a bit and get up and whoop his ass.

Fahhkk youuu meeaaaannn

idk what you saw - i saw stipe stuff the shot and dc used strength and wasted energy to pick him up and slam him because technique wasnt working. thats not a recipe to win for 5 rounds. he wont have energy to do that all 25 minutes.

maybe if they do a trilogy and stipe takes him down and beats him up you guys will see stipe is more likely to have more success with wrestling offensively than dc is. being the bigger guy helps out in cases like this.

also, i dont recall stipe ever being close to "being stopped". on the ground he took like no damage and on the feet he got tagged but just showed he has a good chin.

Shows that Stipe can take it and Dodgy Cuck will gas out. DC is broken and will lose to the next bum they pair him with.

In essentially every single wrestling exchange after round 1, Stipe dominated. He was the bigger stronger man pushing DC against the fence, he landed a takedown, stuffed DC's attempt and took his back for a moment.

Cormier was gassing after round 2 and after round 3 he was done.

he wore himself out going all out in the first, while Stipe kept a slow and steady pace looking for the kill.

Seriously, what does this forum have against Stipe? Just infinite threads discrediting his win.

How about crediting Stipe. The fight didnt play out that way. They were more slippery. DC was gassing and was hurting late from Stipes body shot adjustment. Stipe showed a great chin, great heart and was able to switch to another gear in the 4th. Looked totally fresh out there.
I rate DC as one of the very best ever so it's a huge accomplishment for Stipe.

Why don't you pick up Stipe's giant ass, walk him around, slam him, fight him in his guard.

Not sure how that's any better. That's like bragging about having syphilis because at least you don't have herpes. Give it a rest with this shit.

I'm worried revisionist history will depict the fight as a complete triumph for Stipe instead of the back and forth war it really was.

Stipe has some serious holes in his game, mainly his downright awful striking defense and his reliance on a 1-2 straight combo that lacks flexibility. Those body shots were basically the first punches that weren't "1-2 straights" and look what a difference it made. Stipe fans do at least need to acknowledge that Stipe was not the more effective striker for the vast majority of that fight or they might end up disappointed if his rematch with Ngannou is mostly a standup affair.

Best start praying Ngannou hasn't improved his takedown defense.

It was a frustrating fight to watch because DC, the Olympic caliber wrestler practically did ZERO wrestling. He thought he was Tyson in there.
Hands down and just tried to straight box with a guy that has a huge height advantage over him. He looked like he was just trying to prove he could KO him again.

You can get KOd at any time at HW. And Stipe has KOd people. DC had no respect for what Stipe could do.
Just absolutely baffling why both he and Romero didn't utilize their greatest strengths.

It's strange. Stipe gets finishes, but is an otherwise generic kind of fighter. And his popularity suffers to due it.

There's no other DC-level grappler at LHW or HW.

I don't think Werdum gets a rematch with Stipe on the horizon. A Werdum rematch would be the best fight since Werdum has good all round skills if he doesnt do rush in.

Actually I think he showed you how he can stop a gameplan....You need a playback? He took everything FC had and gave him a receipt for it in the fourth....GAME OVAH!!!
