Sure he's got the clout, but surely it's all about making the best fight for the fans.

If Diaz loses, he is still eligible to rematch Conor.

If he beats Khabib later in the year and Nate beats Pettis and hasn't lost to anyone else by then, then I could see McGregor being interested in the rubber match... Which would fit perfectly since Mystic Lockard has predicted for the past three years that Conor/Nate III would be the 27th fight of Conor's career
