He did it by way of TKO (head kick and punches) in the 2nd round.

He fights Kelvin Gastelum this weekend at UFC Vegas 24, April 17th.

I remember it clearly. I was sad to see it happen but now I realized it was for the best.

    Still love Jacare.

From then onwards we got Zombie slugger Jacare any time he got tagged.

Nice highlight vs Brunson in the rematch though.

Which is so sad that nowadays he's getting easily folded up like a beach chair by prospect journeymen with zero ground game.

Somehow i thought Whittaker was top 10 but not champ level before this fight. This was the fight a lot of people realized he was a champ level talent.

I miss Brian Stann’s commentary, unbiased and professional without the ludicrous cheerleading of the current crop of jobbers

"move of the fight" they picked 2 different ones. It looked to me like cumulative damage, Whittaker kept it on him, just kept tagging him in nearly every exchange, head shots. Jacare was staggered multiple times. I really liked Whittaker's striking in this match.

Same here. I hate that Jacare got passed over for title shots so many times. Even though I think he was still very good when he fought Whittaker, he was certainly on the other side of his prime.

Not taking anything away from Whittaker, either. His run to the title was incredible. I can only imagine what he would've done to Bisping had they fought!

    This is true:

Whit - Knocked down in every fight since

Costa - Knocked out in his following fight

Rockhold - Knocked out in his following fight

Jac - 4-6 since the Romero fight multiple KO losses

Adesanya - From undefeated to 1-1 since the Romero fight

Romero doesn’t lose, he just runs out of time to knock people out.

Reminds me of when Fedor would do the exact same thing to his opponents. Never the same again.

Jacare fought that fight with a torn pec iirc. Still masterful performance by Whittiker, he's a great anti-wrestler.

Did I just see JBG Yamasaki stop a fight while the fighter was still kind of intelligently defending?

Should have let Jacare be a warrior.

Bobby Knuckles is the best nickname in the UFC, hands down.
