So this guys team think he should have been awarded 4 knockdowns but the ref did not count any of them so he lost a close decision on the cards. They filed a formal protest and WBC integrity unit will watch the replay and decide what to do. I am curious what you guys think though.

From fightnews...

A formal protest has been lodged to the WBC office over Friday’s split decision loss by former WBA interim light flyweight champion Randy Petalcorin against Omar Kimweri in Melbourne, Australia. Scores were 114-113 Petalcorin, and 115-112, 115-112 for Kimweri, who claimed the WBC flyweight silver title.

The first one as a CLEAR Kd. No doubt. Horrible call by the ref.

The other probably arguably were KDs too but I've seen stuff like that happen plenty of times and it not be called a KD. I didn't see his knee or glove touch in those ones. First one, definitely.

I was ringside at that fight. It was hard to call the knockdowns. Myself and everyone else felt the decision could have gone either way without the knockdowns. Although slightly in favour of petalcorin who dominated early.
There was an 8 man heavyweight competition also, the judging was atrocious all night, worst I've seen!
The winner of the 8 man was a muay thai fighter and the runner-up stated in the post fight interview that he wasn't a boxer. I think he was a former rugby player who needed to earn a quick buck.

Just watched the footage. They were all knockdowns.
The ref has been around as long as i can remember. I've seen him ref over 40 shows and usually he's fantastic.

Its pretty rare to see refs call a KD without the fighters knee or glove touching the canvas. You hardly ever see refs call "ropes held him up" knockdowns.

I thought the first one for sure was a cleam knockdown and the second one technically obviously since he sat on the ropes and took a flurry but the 3rd is iffy and the 4th I have no idea what happened there.
