Crime 4 Chinese military officials charged over Equifax breach

When the settlement was announced I said it was an insult. The inconvenience each victim had to go through because of this breach is worth less than $5? Are you kidding me?

Hopefully heavy punishment is in store for China. Crank those tariffs up a few notches, Trump.

Digital security no longer exists. My personal info has been stolen in large-scale breaches twice already, all in the past two years.

    Edit. Oh and Fuck China

  3. I want tariffs against them turned up to 11.

Shit's wild out there. Tariff battles up front, digital economic espionage in the backroom, playing hegemonic games in the Asian waterways. Gotta put a foot on their neck.

  7. I can't believe this story has been buried. Agents of a superpower steal data on 145 million Americans and this isn't a huge deal?

It's so odd what this forum will lose its collective shit over, and what it will let slide

  9. I'm not concerned if it gets burried on Sherdog. What's concerning is that if you go to the homepages for CNN, Huffpost, MSNBC, NY Times, Washington Post the story is either not there at all or way below other stories.

The suspense, the thrills, the non stop excitement. Action doesn't get any better!

  16. It's ridiculous. We don't need five fucking top stories about one state's primary before the vote is even finished.

    Better late than never.

Justice Department on Twitter: "“I’m here to announce the indictment of Chinese military hackers… for breaking into the computer systems of the credit-reporting agency Equifax, and for stealing the sensitive personal information of nearly half of all American citizens.”—AG Barr https://t.co/05qn9fiBQv" / Twitter

FBI on Twitter: "Wu Zhiyong, Wang Qian, Xu Ke, and Liu Lei face charges of computer fraud, economic espionage, and wire fraud for their role in one of the largest thefts of personally identifiable information by state-sponsored hackers ever recorded. https://t.co/KcZ8lOfpbd https://t.co/65vDyh4HTx" / Twitter

Yeah F China. And yes nothing online is secure. We really need to start backing stuff up on non digital sources so we don't suddenly have huge amounts if documents and data suddenly destroyed
