GSP's ability to take anyone down and control them was a pretty rare talent. I really don't think you can even lump anyone in there with him. Not even a guy like DC, who was in the damn Olympics.

The current WW champion does literally that exactly. It's boring as all hell, but he does it well.
 
Nope. Not Askren, not DC, even Jones didn't get the TD in his last fight.
 
It's almost as if he was fighting in a different era and all the guys he beat wouldn't be top 10 currently.

the game has evolved since then
fighters have gotten better at defending takedowns

Dan Hardy - Another striker who doesn't know what wrestling is
Thiago Alves - Just not good enough compared to current guys

Do you see him doing what GSP did? Not really. Askren and Khabib drag guys down by hanging on them. Usman is a bit different but not by much.

None of them just go bam across the ring and the next second are on top of the guy with their opponent having no way out. No chance to strike or defend.
