Why can't the UFC accept performance enhancing drugs like Pancrase did?

It was even encouraged informally for the fighters to get juiced during the Pancrase days. Why does the UFC need to take a moral stand here?

Pancrase was never shut down by any governing body, yet it was without regulations. Nobody could argue it wouldn't work.

Public perception obviously

UFC owners' dream would be to convince the public that there was rigorous drug testing while letting everyone juice like crazy behind the scenes

More juice means less pullouts, less weight misses, and more exciting fights.

yeah, pancrase was HUGE!

Because modern-day MMA fans would rather watch fragile, beaten-up, deflated guys pull out of fights, miss weight, fight "safe," and gas in 3 minutes than see high-level, exciting fighting with enhancements.

How do you know all of this?

Some PEDs are illegal and nobody should feel compelled to become a criminal, or risk their health, in order to compete on a level playing field.

That would motivate me even more. Be clean and fight someone who needs extra, and beat him

Pancrase is Japanese right, just like pride, sengoku, Dream etc.,HOw do you know the UFC is taking the moral high ground, aren't they mandated by the state governments to drug test?

they should let them juice to the gills if they want... more exciting fights, etc... plus in every sport, almost everyone is cycling... but hey if you're a clean fighter and you beat someone like Brock Lesnar or Ubereem, thats something else to brag about

They weren't mandated to ruin the sport by bringing in Yusada and have random visits.

The UFC is deathly afraid of having it's own Chris Benoit, which is always a risk if you let PED and drugs run freely among fighters.

All it takes is a whistle blower and everything is done

Let them juice without this USADA bullshit like NBA and NFL.

And even soccer although they have an ‘ADA they are paid off.
