Remember a couple years ago when people were mad at the UFC for not giving this kid a development contract?

It depends
For a guy like me, who knows shit about freestyle wrestling and Pico's credentials, no.
But the man looked good in his wins. Athletic, improved boxing, good wrestling.

Pikachu refusing to evolve into his next form. He will always be at a disadvantage.

But no worries we still got young prospects like Erick Silva coming up. Now that kid is gonna be a star.

I wonder how he would've turned out if he first did amateur MMA and then fought lesser opponents in his first fights like most do

Well, he has fought legit guys early, unlike others who would likely have gotten murked too if not facing total cans. Like Bellator fed MVP for five years.

Bellator are fucking stupid, should have gave him absolute cans to build him up, instead in his first ever MMA fight he faces a guy with an 8-2 record and loses lol poor guy is only 22 and already been brutally KO'd in back to back fights

That is what he gets for trying to skip amateurs. He doesn't have enough cage time. I think he recently sorted out his training but it still takes time for results to fully show. I also don't know why but he seems small as hell for every weight class he is in.

Very nicely done tying him to the UFC to make it a legit thread for this forum TS.

Veteran move.

Inb4 people say it was Ronda

Despite her being an extremely successful MMA fighter

Aaron Pico is ALWAYS winning... until he loses.

Bellator uploaded his last fight here. Free.

It was Sage.

Sage actually made it to the front of reddit with this gif....his hype was immense....and he had the UFC fully behind em.

Aaron Pico doesn't get close.

He’s the greatest example of win some, lose some. He could probably beat anyone on any given night, but he can lose to anyone above the middle of the road fighters.

Honestly, he just needs a sick new nickname to get his confidence and flow back.

Something like, say, "Bokuno"

And some people moan about Sean O Malley and his hype, but at least he worked his way up from the amateur leagues, and is given a proper and slow development into being a top contender.

People will claim "Cherry picking" or "Protected" but when you rush them into the pros, and even the Top 10, like Pico here than it becomes a hype job.

Pico got in through damn near recommendation alone, and got to jump the line and avoid the grind, and look what happened.

People can say what they want, but he wasn't built up or developed properly at all, and was most certainly built up around hype.

It could be the same for O Malley, he could be hype too, but it's hard to argue he's being reigned in better than Pico.

Obviously. You had people talking about him as a future champion and potential GOAT before he has one MMA fight. Can't recall anyone else getting treated that way.
