“I have chronic arthritis in my joint right here,” Woodley told TMZ Sports after visiting a hand specialist. “There’s three joints that enable me to grab and grip. One has chronic arthritis and this one has severe arthritis. There’s a few different ways to heal and fix the problem permanently but it’s something you wouldn’t do if you were still active, because it limits your range of motion and grip. The temporary fix is to rehab it, get it stronger, get the flexibility to start to grab and grip, then 10 days before the fight let’s try to do a cortisone shot. I have the UFC checking on cities and states that allow you to have cortisone shots.”

It's easy to get arthritis in your hands if you break them. My friend is 34 and has it in his thumbs from breaking his hands

I don’t think arthritis in overused, specific joints is a shock for a professional fighter.

weird he is not that old
Anyone who has had surgery on a joint will have arthritis in that area way earlier than they ordinarly would have

and many athletes will have arthritis much earlier than other people, just because of the wear and tear

weird he is not that old
arthritis can be a result of big wear and tear on joints, which logically often affects athletes in a younger age than other people

My nephew had arthritis in both his shoulders when he was in his early 20s. It's a weird thing. My grandfather lived until he was 98 and never got it at all. One thing that doctors thought could be a factor was that in his late 40s or early 50s he was stung by bees about a billion times. He was walking in some woods and his leg sunk all the way up to his waist in a nest of the bees that live in the ground.

Sure he does.

Is this his retirement ?

Yep I got it pretty bad in my right hand( had it since I was 25). Fucked my hand up bad lost a finger. Sever trauma will cause it. You can deal with as long as u stay on it. If I dont stretch my hand a couple time a day, I pay for it.

I would be dead. Or dying. Allergic to bees. I can get stung but I gotta go to the hospital immediately. My throat can close up. One bee sting I can handle.

one bee sting.

People are gonna shit talk him and stuff I guess because he didn’t have his hands amputated or whatever. But arthritis is no joke... really sucks for Tyron.

Would kinda like being a one eyed race car driver or something....
