Anthony Pettis joins Ariel Helwani today to talk about his recent victory over Stephen Thompson, and much more

Cliffs:

-Already back into the gym, motivated by his very recent win.
-Says he didn't cut a lot of weight, weighed 182 during fight week.
-Says everything had to happen for him to see things clearly, took the losses as learning experiences.
-Came in this fight weighing less than he did fighting against Tony Ferguson, in which he weighed in at 185(Interesting)

-Says gameplan was to chop the legs away. Says he had to stay patient.
-Says he set up the Superman Hook with leg kicks, says Stephen Thompson took the bait, with his fake kick

-Says he didn't want to get into a striking match with Wonderboy as his range was very long.
-Was not aware of how much time was left on the clock, was only focused on landing the shot.
-Says he drilled the "Superman Hook" during practice for the Tony Ferguson bout, calls it the "Kick Punch" says he wanted to use it on Tony Ferguson.
-Says he didn't need to talk trash to sell the fight, the martial arts would sell it.
-Says his move back down to 155 is about his teammates, Woodley and Askren fighting at that weight class, wants to see Woodley to get that fight back(Cool)
-Says he was told about the Conor tweet, didn't go looking for it.
-Says "If he wants the fight, let's do it, send me the contract, I'm ready to go" but won't beg for the fight.
-Says possible rematch with RDA would be more personal than anything, wants that win back.
-Says he's over embarrassing defeat from RDA.
-Says Duke and him saw eye to eye during this fight, mutually agreed to stalk Wonderboy.
-Says his hand didn't break, hit Wonderboy with hard.
-Says he wouldn't have hit him if he knew Wonderboy was out, didn't think Punch had that much power behind it knocked him out(There you go, he didn't know)
-Says Bloody nose was made more of a big deal than it was.
-Eyes return in July, International Fight Week, open to whatever fight he's offered.

185 against Tony
182 against Till

Does everyone at LW cut 30 pounds or what? Lee says he was 185, Pettis says he was 185, Khabib, Tony, RDA, Diaz, Cerrone etc. It looks like Conor is the only one to cut from 170s in the whole division... or some of these fighters are lying :)

Weighed 182
Sherdoggers will still say 170 soaking wet Conor is “bigger than him”

Yes lol
It goes like this
Big lightweight=180-190
Some hit 200lbs(Tony)
Average=170-180
Big welterweight
200-210
Average 190-200
Big featherweight
160-170(Aldo Conor etc)
Some are freaks and are 185lbs(Pettis Holloway)
Average
155-170

I don't believe this shit. Conor says whatever works for his agenda. Either Pettis was not 185 against Tony or Conor was not 171 against Khabib. In all of his UFC fights, Conor was the smaller guy only once and that was against Nate in the second fight. We have eyes you know and Diaz was the only one noticably bigger than him.

Conor has been 170 most of his life
He was 168 fully hydrated
His weight manager says the same

Conor is a average light weight
Just compare him and khabib at the weigh ins

Conor made featherweight for a career, it’s not surprising
Chesia was 182 vs lee
Volk was 166 vs mendes which is 5 lbs less than Conor lol

Holloway isn't 185 lbs. He was 178 when he tried dropping to lw to fight Khabib and he wasn't in camp.

He said in the presser he had “30 pounds to cut”
That’s 185
Though he could of been few pounds off
Rogan says similar
