He portrayed himself as the karate guy, always with a GI and a headband. This is him going to the cage

He even made a Japanese tattoo on his chest:

He used to run in the snow and scream: WAAAAAAAR

But once he stepped into that cage, he would go for the flying double under instantly:

He was a safe fighter, he won 50 rounds, never finishing a fight. He became the safest fighter of them all after he got KOd by Serra. Its all good though, but why do you think he likes to be viewed as a Bushido fighter, a Karate guy, when he was THE MMA resler?

Karate was his original martial art and what ultimately introduced him to MMA. Styles aside, he was still a black belt in... Kyokushin?

GSP was smart...

That’s why he had such an astounding career as a mixed martial artist.

So after he changed his strategy you wanted him to run out in a singlet?

Still can’t believe GSP couldn’t finish Hardy.

Costume. This really isn’t that different than Hulk and Animal coming out with spiked shoulder pads on.

GSP didn't like getting hit. Being a supremely talented and high IQ fighter, he was able to forge a style where he didn't have to get hit much.

Because no one could stop it. Entertaining isn't the same as being effective. Sure it was kind of boring, but he did it to pretty much everyone back when WW was a stacked division.

Actually started @ BJ 1 Round 2 (not after Serra 1), and No Rush transitioned to MMA as a...grappler (see his UCC run).

The fanboys are coming
He did what he needed to win, it wasn’t always pretty but it was effective

Because most fighters like to get hit, right?

He's just smart and adjusted his gameplan to utilize his strength against his opponents weaknesses.

He was a karate guy..........that evolved into one of the most complete MMA fighters of all time.

Best double leg and best jab in the history of MMA. it is funny that neither of those have anything to do with karate/TKD tho lol

Why do you and so many others feel a need to discredit the guy so much lately? Are you guys mostly Anderson fans? BJ Penn? Jon Jones?
