Masvidal, Cowboy, Pettis, RDA. These guys moved up in and weight and started making waves.

155 division is brimmed and overflowing with talent, anybody from the Top 15-25 on any given night could beat someone in the Top 15.

You got a guy like Tony Ferg who is on a ridiculous 11 fight win streak and can’t get a title shot?

155 lbs is the most prestigious division in MMA and is the optimal weight class for fighting.

Problem is, you'd need a 170 lb. champion that's willing to play ball and give up their belt and either move up to 175, or move down to 165.

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. He's got more chip implants than he's got title shots.

I guess your more average joes are nearer t that size weight class. Makes you appreciate what the big boys can do at LHW and beyond!

165 is a stupid division, serves no purpose.

It's a sport. It's only purpose is to entertain the fans and provide gainful employment to its athletes.

The only reason you accept the current weight class format is because you're used to it 20 years later

The only fighters who actually want that weight class are gatekeepers in lightweight and Welterweight, it’s a fucking stupid division.

That's like saying the only people who want a 185 division are gatekeepers at LHW and WW.

There is a statistical argument to be made for another division between LW and WW. There is a ton of talent between both divisions and plenty of fighters who either cut too much weight for 155 or are too small for 170.

For real get rid of flyweight and make it 165 and 175. Cejudo’s a cornball and small guys don’t draw

No it isn’t, 185 is an established division, not some fake division you guys keep making threads about.

It's established because promoters created it because there was a demand for it. You can't be this stupid

I have a feeling Usman wouldn't mind keeping an extra 5lbs on him

Asking for a division no one cares about sound pretty fucking stupid. You think the general public even gives a fuck about a 165 division? No, only fucking idiots like you want it.

175 welterweight, 165 lightweight, 155 featherweight, 145 bantamweight, delete flyweight

here goes again with 165 talks. you can create a weight division for every 10lbs differences.
it will just make less competive and will make watered down division with fighters playing safe.
like dana white said, you will many guys who cant win at 155 nor 170 going to 165.
division should be very competive to make an exciting matchup which will make a champ belt worh more than just a watered down belt.

I mean, since the value of belts have been diluted already, I don't see the harm anymore.

Usman is a massive WW, I doubt he would have a problem with having to cut 5 lbs less.

Woodley was a massive WW as well.

Khabib
Ferguson
RDA
Diaz
Cerrone
Masvidal
Gunnar
Pettis
Kevin Lee
Hernandez

All these guys would much rather do 165 than their current divisions.

Not stacked enough for you?
