Title says it all, after every big name loses one they should have won the past his prime birds start chirping.

WB is absolutely past his prime, and that was not an uncommon opinion before this fight. He's 36, has been competing since 99, and has struggled with injury. It's not revisionist history, it's simply the case.

3-1-1 in his last 5 and the only win is over a blown up LW.
2014-16 was clearly his 'prime' when he was beating Whittaker, Hendricks and Rory.

Or as usual it's just styles but he is 36 so it's not like he should be improving.

Making weight is probably hell for him especially at 36. He should give MW a try and if that fails then it is most likely over.

A 36 year old mma fighter is not past his prime fighting years? This should go well...

He lost.
That means that he was never any good.
Cut him, already! Off with his head and set it on UFC's gate.

Pettis has just as many fight years as wb and 38-40 is the cut off for when you can say there prime is done as a casual. Gtfo cause 36 is still young look at kamaru... More injurys ect and pain then wb can imagine.

WB relies on timing and reflexes. It is a fact that your reflexes peat at 24-25 and diminish every year after. The NBA is a very good comparison to MMA athletes.

According to the NBA "We are seeing that 29 years old is the most efficient age in NBA basketball. And the prime years for a players are between 26-29 years old. A clear performance drop can be seen starting by age 31, and 22 years old is the starting point to play effectively. "

At 36 WB is clearly past his prime.

"he's passed his prime."

are you happy now, TS?

His prime ended about 5 seconds before that punch landed. I saw it myself

He is 36 and probably past his prime.

I think he's too small for MW and it's not like he's one of the strong welterweights, he'd have too big a strength disadvantage. He can still make another run at WW with a couple wins in a row
