I'd say he learned and evolved a lot since the Smith fight and was impressed by his showing. Sure he lost on the scorecards but we all know he won the fight so his stock has raised a little with this performance.

My question is : who does he fight next ? Here are the realistic possibilities:

1- Jan Blachowicz : my preference. That would be a great fight and would tell us where is Volkan exactly. Jan can give a run for his money to anybody in the division and is never an easy fight. But if Volkan gets past him, it's confirmed that he got better.

2- Ilir Latifi: tough tough fight for Volkan stylistically, and I think Ilir deserves someone ranked higher.

3- Sam Alvey: good rebound fight, I think Volkan dominates him and brings confidence back.

4- Gian Villante: always a good fight to see where you're at at LHW. Gian is basically the top 15 gatekeeper at this point at best (no disrespect)

5- Patrick Cummins : well that's a fight. I do think style wise Volkan matches up badly with him tough.

What odo you think ?

File a police report on that robbery that happened on Saturday.

Agreed, Volkan vs. Jan. Still annoyed over that decision.

He’s doing great, but he will definitely learn from this robbery and become 10-15% more active, not that Reyes was giving him a lot

A bum.

The guy was rushed to the top to start with.

Him and Jan are running neck-and-neck to be the new LHW top ten gatekeeper. Put him against Johnny Walker next.

hes still right there. yes this is a set back but you can tell by his performance hes getting better and fast. his defense is much better than its ever been and now that hes pacing himself hes able to show more of his skills.

also im still looking forward to dominick reyes next fights. i dont think he should have got the nod but he showed some solid skills and composure under pressure and under fire from a heavy hitter. hopefully he gets more comfortable when his opponent gets close, thats the only time he seemed out of his element but even then its not like he was panicking or making horrible decisions.

Volkan vs Shogun is my vote

Btw Volkan won that fight, robbery.

You got some right mongoloids crawling around Sherdog.

I like Volkan more from that fight. It definitely proves he is a specialist since he struggles against BJJ specialists but does well in straight up standing fights.
Wasn't he originally booked to fight Shogun last year? I still would like to see that one run back.
I actually don't want him to fight Johnnie Walker as he will expose Johnnie Walker with precision strikes.

Never knew this random European had so many fans. Good grief...

Keep improving and work on his cardio. He let up a bit in the 3rd, that was the chance the judges had to not give him the win. He left it in their hands by getting a bit tired at the end. He still has a great upside.
