Is guillotine merely 1 arm around the throat with the 2nd arm locking up the choking arm, where as a d'arce has the 1 arm around the throat and opponents arm, with the 2nd arm coming under the arm pit for a "triangle" style choke where their own arm and rotation is doing the choking on one side.
That's my laymen understanding.

In no gi, yes, they are the same thing. Though if we're being elitist, it should probably only be referred to as a d'arce in no gi.
Brabo is generally only used while in a gi when the lapel is looped around the back.

It's always been my hope. I do train stand up, it's merely time and money issue that keeps me from further pursuits like bjj.you should start training, it's a fun and interesting sport

This is a kung fu/san shou school, so there is takedown training, and some chinese variants on joint locking, but no official bjj.don't know where you train your standup or how skilled you are, but certainly many gyms these days have both a striking and grappling program under the same roof

I always remember it as the Darce Departs from the armpit, and the Anaconda Arrives at the armpiti always get confused with the darce/brabo vs the anaconda
