Old interview from over a year ago, but I didn't see it posted here
Rorian promoted Rickson straight from 7th to 9th degree with many members of the Gracie family, including a few Machados, present. Also some friendds like Pedro Sauer and Fabio Santos were there.
Rickson took it and made a speech about protecting BJJ promotion standards.
Then 2 months later on UFC Unfiltered, they have Renzo on as a surprise co-host to interview Rickson.
He tries to be as diplomatic about as he can about it, saying he has a lot of respect for Rorian, but just prefers not to wear it because he hasn't reached certain standards that he himself is trying to enforce for everyone to get this rank.
