Josh is coming off a loss and needs a big win to bounce back. AFAIK he does not have a fight planned or booked. No fighter outside the top 10 will get more attention than Kron. For Kron, its an opportunity to test himself against a ranked opponent like he's been wanting, at the same time it's not too big a step up. If you think it is, remember that Kron just finished Caceres and Kawajiri, two guys who have had competitive fights against ranked UFC guys, so it's not "too much too soon".

Style wise, Emmett is a knock out threat and a good wrestler, not an easy guy to bring down, so Kron who might have to stand and bang more than he'd like.

Book it Dana.

Pretty quick jump up for Kron but similar to Emmett getting the Lamas fight, altho that was short-notice.

Would watch

Did Emmet already recovered after the injuries he suferred during Stephens fight? From what i remember he got his face totally destroyed.

No one seems to be mentioning that was Caceres 7th loss by submission and his 5th loss by RNC. He was pretty much a sitting duck unless he fought really intelligently (not his specialty). He's now tied with Rumble for the number of RNC losses.

Kron vs Ryan Hall
Kron vs Ortega (BJJ battle of all time)

I thought Emmett became a vegetable after the Stephens fight.

Kron will not make it far. His striking looked amateur and he seems flat footed. If he can’t get you down, he’s fucked.

"Too much too soon"

Also, Kron didn't "just" finish Kawajiri, that was 2016. Kron wasn't competing in MMA since then, up until his recent ufc debut

Is Emmet's faced completely healed up? Lil Heathen broke his face in multiple places.

Fair question, but it's been a year. Surely if he still isn't ready he may need to consider retirement. I wish him the best either way.

Edit: judging by his Instagram, Josh is in the gym and training hard!

The "fight to make" for Kron would be a good Asian fighter with a solid reputation on an Asian card, like Guan Wang.

The Gracie name pulls a lot more casuals out in Asia than it does in the States.

Throw a good wrestler with "go to sleep for 2 days straight" KO power at a newbie BJJ player with "ehhh" striking? Man, you should take Shelby's job. We need more just bleed types like you man. Lets get KOs and brutality going everywhere.

After what Neiman Gracie did to Ed Ruth, you can't doubt these elite Gracies anymore.

NYE of 2017, so basically 2 years ago. Either was, Kawajiri was many years beyond his prime.
