I agree. Dude almost dies cutting weight while failing to show up for a title defense, and just a few years later, they let him try to do it all over again.

Last night on the Invicta card two missed weight. On the Bellator card for tonight it looked like none missed. I don’t know about last night’s Bellator card.

It’s weird with no real rhyme or reason. Though I think some of it is weight cheating. A better chance at the win may be worth the fine to some imo.

Should be 50% on first miss 75% on the second and mandatory move up in weight.

And sure as hell no title shots immediately after missing weight.

The fines should be proportional to how far over weight they are, but more importantly, if a fighter misses weight multiple times in a row (or even once by an egregious amount), their next fight should be at a higher weight class.

It should be on their contract that if they miss weight they can be offered fights at the next weight class for the rest of the contract. Also, no win bonus, and if they do win the fight is ruled a no contest.
