looked like a belly fat couch potato walking into the cage and still gave dc a three round battle, didn't get finished and hurt him in albeit one instance of the fight. He took the Brunson fight with absolutely nothing to gain and now he's taking a fight with absolutely NOTHING to gain against a young buzzsaw who is touted as the next anderson silva.

I felt that he won the bisping fight but he fought a weird fight and probably deserved to lose based on that.

The guy has unreal confidence in himself and truly has bushido spirit and is willing to fight anyone, much like Cerrone.

When these guys retire, we will miss them dearly. They don't make them like this anymore. I wish our other mma legends were as fearless and willing to put themselves out there for the fans like these guys.

That was strictly an exhibition match to save the card. Nothing more, nothing less.

Willing to fight anyone not named Shogun. Tbf he had a lot to lose by taking the Shogun fight at that time

This. I feel like people overestimate the fight like Anderson came to fight the devil himself. It was a big ass pay day for a fight the none of them fought at 100%.

That body kick let every one know if he had a full camp and was in prime he would have won. Hespeck

Nothing to gain? Talk of a title shot if he can win. That's something to gain considering it'll leapfrog him over tons of guys.

fixed fight

MW GOAT.

Will never forget that 16-0 run. Some fantastic memorable finishes.

That was the last event before the Fertittas announced they were selling to WME IMG.

Anderson must feel like a chump now.

And GSP spent years avoiding the Silva super-fight. What a shame...

Then Cormier would of actually fought him rather than mess with him like a father does with his child.

Respect for taking the fight, but he had a very good pair of reasons to do so (money and ranking). He sure didn't do it only out of the goodness of his heart.

He also provided virtually no offense and played an extremely defensive guard (IIRC).

He took it and was probably paid well.

He is considered washed up and wasn't getting any titles shots so why not fight DC? What did he have to lose?

He is fighting Adesanya because a win propels him into title contention once again. Only an idiot would think he has nothing to gain.

DC fans like to say this rather than acknowledge that Silva has by far the best bottom game of anybody DC's fought and it clearly showed.

Would look a lot different if it had been another Dan Henderson in there playing guard.
