    https://www.google.ca/amp/s/middleeasy.com/mma-news/usada-steroid-use-injuries-ufc/?amp

    • In 2014 there was an average cancellation of 2.7 a card compared to 3.7 a card in 2017
    • In 2014 there was a 28% decrease in injuries as compared to 2017
    • USADA drug testing was introduced in early 2015 & began testing on July 1st
    • Further analysis is required for 2018,2016, 2013 & 2012

I haven’t seen the stats for 2018 and 2019 yet but it seems to be the way it goes.

    Usada makes this rough meng.

    That's a crazy fucking stat.

With all the time and advancement of science you would think that there must be some roids we could let them safely use with no long term bad effects?

need more data. 2017 could have just been an abberation, or alternatively 2014. Or both.
Need at least 3 years data both before and after USADA to draw any reasonable conclusions

Good. Most other orgs that don't have semblance of stringent testing tend to be most backward cringe worthy shitfests of stupidity that it rarely generates enough money to recompense the massive damage fighters take. Rizen succeeds because it understand circus fighting and spectacle very well, plus it pits local fighters Vs outsiders to generate great local numbers(whenever it isn't two local bantamweight going at it).

Maybe fighters need to train smarter. That's what I get from the data.

Steroids are modern medicine but they get banned because the results hurt weak betas feelings. Whatever, real men have 1500 test levels and don’t need that poison anyway.

Steroids and other peds greatly aid recovery time, when people get off the juice but don't alter their training method, or if camps and coaches are pushing guys to train too hard without that recovery aid, you're going to get injuries. The answer to this isn't bringing steroids back, it's developing better training methods that the human body is able to deal with naturally without risking injury.

Is this after USADA said they won't publicly announce failed tests but the person is illegible to compete, as well as the UFC offering fighters insurance?

Has the average age and size of fighters remained the same?

I'm sure a lot of the increase in injury cancelations is directly related to PEDs use. But older fighters get more injuries and heavier fighters face opponents that can do more damage. Both of those factors could also play a role in the increase of cancelations.
