People are already talking about gaming on this monster good luck. Games are still having problems using all effects on a 1080P monitor. Its going to be good for artists and video editors who need 4K resolution but most have no real need for this monster yet. Still its pretty cool for bragging rights for your new 6 GPU 3 ATI HD7890 crossfire monster setup LOL.

The gaming industry got to give a bit less attention to graphics and focus on gameplay and plot writing. It's been a long time since I played something epic.

It will have at least 2 dead pixels....right in the middle too.

I can't wait to see this 4K stuff first hand instead of on pictures and advertisements. The average person can hardly tell the difference between 720p and 1080p, so jumping to 4K seems kind of unnecessary. I remember watching advertisements for Bluray movies/players on DVD's and thinking "meh", and then being blown away in the store seeing it. Even though going to 4K is a bigger jump in resolution, I don't think it will be as impressive. I've also heard that 8K is in early development and will be on the heels of the 4K stuff when it's out.

Teh orsum grafix sells though.

Awesome, but does anyone realize how close you need to be to a 32inch monitor to see the benefits of 4k?

Not worth it for home use IMO

Man, that's the problem with technology. It's advancing so much faster than we can utilize it. Not every cable station is even broadcasting in 1080p yet.

Another big problem with the tech is the advancement of streaming media and how it's killing physical media. I get close to my monthly data cap trying to stream HD footage as it is now, can't imagine how much more data I'll consume trying to stream ultra HD footage.

God yes. It's a huge problem in the UK too. You hear all these publishers and studios desperate to go digital-only so they can fuck us over, but none of them ever address the data issue. Guess that mustn't be a problem in their world.

The biggest thing that gets me with these large HD monitors is that when I'm watching porn I always notice little things. Girls have like ass acne and shit, or you can see where they cut themselves shaving before a shoot. Screw games and that jazz...the porn industry needs to realize there is high def now, and the consumers aren't happy with their adaption to it.

I'll stick to grainy free porn rips.

Ass acne in 4k?

Not on my watch.

Porn industry are usually the first to take advantage of new tech. Guess there's not much you can do with raddled slappers and their drug habits after a while.

Watch stuff like x art, the girls are actually healthy looking and not afflicted with nasty skin conditions. Great production values too. It's classy stuff.

This.

I did the math -You would need to stay within 2-2.5 feet of the monitor to have benefit over a 1080p monitor.
