3 months training in Thailand; 3 in Brazil; 3 in LA, 3 in Iowa

would be very badass, and who cares if its romanticized training, nothing wrong with that. exhibition muay thai matches on a hazy Thailand cliff, tekken style haha. heavy grinding wrestling training in a boring flat iowa suburb, boxing in the hustle n bustle of LA. sign me up.

Wasn't there a reality show about 2 guys that went to a lot of different places to learn their specific style? It's almost the same. Those guys didn't become better fighters, actually. One of them was Jimmy Smith

How badass would that be

I think you can do as well in a lot of places. I can tell you Thailand is not as comfortable as it once was. Even though you just go to the gym, don't chase young girls, the cops are everywhere now, and more Russians than before that are a little spooky. I think you can find the best trainers in the USA. JMO.

PA is also one of the only states with not only a single great wrestling program but many good ones at the collegiate level.

You have Penn State which is the top program over the last 5 years plus you got perennial powerhouses like Lehigh, stony brook, slippery rock, bloomsburg, and a few others all producing all-americans pretty often.

Stony Brook is in NY

Wrong forum and it makes no sense.

It's cheaper and less difficult to fly in a specialist and have them stay with your camp than to fly yourself, get the necessary visas, deal with the timezone change, find accommodation, adapt to a new environment/country, and bring the other parts of your camp (conditioning coach, therapists, sparring partners, etc).

If you have enough money to fly all over, you're far better off staying put.

Or just fly to LA, Vegas, NYC, etc... where top mma gyms are. TS was touched by the special peen.

On a scale from 1 to 2 I would give it a badass rating of 1.5

Lots of clowns on this thread.

It seems like a great fight vacation

Fight Quest, loved that show. I remember them boxing in Mexico, going to Thailand, and judo in Japan. Showed a lot about the culture and origin of the sports.

Oh yeah, I remember Josh Thompson being on that show. Don't remember if he was on every episode but I remember him in the judo one.

Start in Iowa to get in shape, then LA, then Thailand to showcase at least some skill, then Brazil so you dont get embarassed. Do it and post here about it.

I would pick Arizona/Oklahoma for wrestling.. or Russia. Germany also has a decent wrestling league, I am sure you would train with a few high level wrestlers there.

Pretty solid training fantasy. Life fantasy, even.

Save your money, buy a tapout/affliction t-shirt and "trane" UFC at 1 location. Use the rest of the money for more tapout and affliction t shirts and can't forget the poser gloves and board shorts.

Tate Fletcher is that you?

You would be better training one full year in one good MMA gym.
