True, I thought season 2 was quite a bit better, neither of them are as good as season 1 of True Detective so I kind of watered down my original post to avoid this explanation

i was watching when it aired but not in order, then went back to watch from the beginning and got up to around season 3 i think. which season is the one where theyre fighting the chinese
