This was my original pick and then I wanted to pick cinderella man instead of 310, so I went quick & dead cause I was undecided

but American Gangster and The Other Guys are right up there.

3:10 is so damn good. And so many strong performances there- Crowe is great, Bale is great, Foster steals every scene he's in, Fonda is awesome, Lerman is very good.

LA Confidential was the best movie of '97 in my opinion and that had a lot of good ones.

1. Gladiator - awesome movie, holds up well for repeated viewing
2. Master and Commander - odd movie but strangely watchable
3. The Quick and the Dead - would've been better with less Sharon Stone but Gene Hackman more than made up for it. Crow was kinda blah.

It is a masterpiece. Even has some of the best sound design ever. With a good 7.1 system it is shocking. You feel like you are on a ship.
