2nd viewing of Donald/Benson 3

No one in the Arena thought Benson won. Most have been s
Swayed by Rogan, just got home from Boston I'll rewatch.

Well Boston isn't exactly known for their love of....

nvm.

Close fight for sure. Benson didnt do much, but Cowboy did even less. Bendo 29-28.

The big thing is whether or not you count Bendo's 37 front kicks to the thigh as "Significant strikes".

They were doing absolutely no damage, whereas Cowboy's leg kicks were hard and brutal. Not all strikes are created equal.

What the fuck? He may have landed 2 nice leg kicks in the entire fight. Most of the kicks he was throwing were push kicks to the midsection, which were even less effective than henderson's. Benson also threw his share of vicious leg-kicks, as pointed out by rogan's blind ass on multiple occasions, and head kicks as well.

He landed 18 leg kicks. At the very least, a dozen of them were clean and that is lowballing it.

And if you remove those kicks then the striking is about equal. So the striking is equal, and then Benson lands 37 extra "weak" kicks .... and loses? Does he LOSE points for landing certain strikes?

Benson landed 29 MORE sig. strikes, and 35 MORE total strikes. The fight was a no brainer who won, Greg Jackson thought Cowboy was losing. Cowboy thought Cowboy was losing.

That inside leg kick and body kick were there for Cerrone to land all day. He should have teeped with not only his rear leg but his lead leg as well.

Boring ass fight. Another Benson snoozefest. 6 seconds left in round 3 and Benson is running away instead of engaging. Well deserved loss for Benson. Possibly the most boring fighter at LW.

That explains why henderson was so hobbled out there....oh wait...:icon_neut

About the Cerrone being hurt part in round 3. I think that was true. Benson landed a solid headkick on Cerrone in the third and the momentum immediately changed. Cerrone was easily in control of that third round until the headkick landed. He was hurt and the momentum fell in favor of Benson after that.

Close fight. Cowboy's aggression and pressure combined with his take downs may have swayed the judges. No robbery.

I was pleading with my television. "Inside leg kick on his wide ass stance! Body Kick, dammit! Teep with your lead leg, fuker!!" "C'mon cowboy!! What the fuk?!?!? Where are your feints?!?!

One takedown, in the round he was the most outstruck. Benson landed literally DOUBLE the amount of strikes, and the takedown lasted like 10 seconds and he did nothing with it..

It was the third meeting between Benson Henderson and Donald Cerrone this weekend, but the first in the UFC, and first without any title on the line. Yet the stakes were still high. Henderson was looking to rebound from his fist non-title loss, while Cerrone was looking to extent a frenzied win-steak that could put him into UFC title contention for the first time.

Henderson went in as a slight favorite at the books, and at the end of the fight the body language of both fighters supported a third win for the Seattle native. But when the scores were read for the unanimous decision, Henderson was left stunned in defeat while Cerrone could only shrug uncomfortably in victory.

So let
