I don't think Skinner purposely deflected the puck instead of catching it. I think he was flat footed and wasn't expecting the puck to come his way and reacted at the last moment. Which is bad enough being caught flat footed when the Panthers had complete control of the zone at that moment.

He's very good, he's just over rated. He's a great skater and a good passer and he scored in the regular season.

But the truly great players step up and score big goals when it matters.

Over the last 4 games, outside of the 2nd period comeback in game 4, the Oilers have:

Perry PP goal game 3
Walman 3rd period goal in game 4
Draisaitl fluke OT goal
2 goals in garbage time last game

That's it for 4 games (going back to OT of game 2). After the 1st 2 games and excluding the 2nd period of game 4, this series has been extremely lopsided. It looks like Florida should've swept the Oilers.

The only reason the Oilers got 2 games is because of 2 multi-goal comebacks and you can't blame all of this on goaltending. Keep in mind that the goaltending difference gives Edmonton 7.5M more in cap space.

Most Canadian fans couldn't care less about other Canadian markets. I don't root for Ottawa. I would root for Dallas over every other Canadian team because I have at least lived in Texas. It's only Americans who turn this into a national thing. And the impression I get is most of you don't even watch hockey.

The only time nationalism factors in is at the Olympics, 4 nations, and so on. And, ironically, as I said, Florida's best players won the last big national tournament for Canada.
