A change in the GOP primary schedule looks to have been approved. SC will now be a full two weeks after Nevada. The order doesn't change but extends the amount of time SC would be in the spotlight as it's normally closer to after NH and NV.

South Carolina GOP votes to move back their 2024 primary
ABC News
The South Carolina Republican Party voted unanimously on Saturday to hold their 2024 GOP presidential primary on February 24 next year, sources close to the process told ABC News.

The potential move would lengthen the time candidates have to focus on campaigning across the pivotal Palmetto State compared to the 2016 GOP election cycle.

The designation, if approved by the Republican National Committee, would upend the usual cadence of the Republican nominating calendar by placing South Carolina after Nevada for the first time in cycles. It would also make South Carolina Republicans vote 18 days after Nevada's scheduled primary, putting the first-in-the-South presidential primary state front and center in the race for more than two full weeks.

In 2016, South Carolina's Republican primary came three days before Nevada held its caucuses-- when campaigns were pinballing between the two early states in an effort to sway each electorate.

This could be seen as a key state for a few reasons. Biden in 2020 didn't win until getting to SC. In 2024, both Scott and Haley had seats in the state and likely are putting a lot of their chips in winning it.

I picked Trump, Cheney, and Tom Cotton. The 3 easiest opponents I think the dems could have.

Just tell Tom Cotton you see someone of Iranian descent. He'll freak out, and he'll be the next nominee because that's where the party is at. He could talk about Benghazi, the base could get their soma, it's all good for the rubes.

I wonder if some strategist is planning an "accident" like that.

Trump Weighs 2024 Run Without Mike Pence, Allies Say
Bloomberg

Donald Trump is telling allies he’s strongly considering another run for president in 2024 -- and close advisers want him to choose someone other than former Vice President Mike Pence for his ticket, according to people familiar with the discussions.

Trump publicly teased at the Conservative Political Action Conference last Sunday that he’s mulling another bid for president. Privately, he’s discussed alternatives to Pence as he takes stock of who he believes stood with him at the end of his term and who didn’t, according to two of the people.

They requested anonymity because the conversations have been private.

Kinda like how Biden running or not in 2024, the race will be different simply because of the candidates who wouldn't run. If Trump runs, you possibly get Pompeo, Pence (maybe), Gaetz, and others out. I think Romney even saying Trump would win the 2024 nominee easily is a sign he likely wouldn't run.

Right? That list sucks

Hard

There's a 40% chance they'll try to lower the age requirement for President so they can get that scummy bastard Madison Cawthorne into the office.

Its disturbing to think that the winner of this poll of irredeemably disgusting people has a 40-50% chance of being the next POTUS.

Every name on this poll is irredeemably disgusting?

I think you’re being a tad over dramatic but it was a singling post anyway.
It was over dramatic, but outside of Baker and Hogan its actually pretty fair.
