SEC fans hate that Texas is last College Football Playoff hope

" Texas — a poison pill the devoted SEC fanbase now realizes it has swallowed? "

“I would say 80 percent of our audience is rooting against Texas to win it all,” said Michael Bratton, host and owner of That SEC Podcast, "

" Texas is its own island, no matter conference affiliation, no matter public proclamations of love and fealty. The most affluent college sports program, the most arrogant sports program — because they can, and because we’re Texas and you’re not."

"...multiple SEC coaches and athletic directors, speaking anonymously to USA TODAY because of the sensitivity of the subject, said they weren’t thrilled about the fortunate scheduling given to the Longhorns in their inaugural season."

In 2023, Big 12 officials expressed frustration with the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas, and some have suggested that the conference may have rooted against them in sporting events.

Explanation

  • Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yorkmark said that he would be rooting against the Longhorns in a Big 12 game.
  • Some have argued that the conference's bias may have extended to the officiating of games involving the Sooners and Longhorns.

This is the first time in 20+ years that people want an SEC team to win the championship

The only new member I don't like is Mizzou. They stick out like a sore thumb. We need to trade them to the Big 10 or Big 12.

Trick ass marks root for a conference and not a team. Why would I root for the competition?

No more so than the Texas schools and Oklahoma. I’d love for the old school SWC to come back.

Lol, ESPN shifting focus after Freeman didn’t feed into the race bait last night. Now they are propping him up as the next 30 something year old coach to possibly win a natty since whenever.

I hope he does win it all, unless Arch plays.

There is nobody hotter - ESPN talking about Ohio St who is on a 2 game winning streak
