Apparently a bunch of people in 1923 got together and predicted what life would be like in 100 years.

Some of the more interesting ones

-Oil/and coal will be a thing of the past
-physical labor type jobs will be non-existent
-basically nailed smartphones
-flying cars
-4 hour workdays max
-NYC 100 million population
-People living to 200 with average life of 100
-Women have shaved heads men have the long hair
-Alcohol is no longer consumed
-Eggs $10 a dozen
-cars run off solar government power stations

Did they get eating bugs and drag queens in schools?
I read the article. They didn’t. They assumed the collective wisdom and intelligence of humanity would only grow over time, not regress.

I don’t think anyone could have predicted the rapid headlong dive into stupidity we’ve taken even 10 years ago.

We'd have on barriers when we can't maintain social distance, and segways... Man were they wrong.

hol' up.

“Leisure will be occupied in productive diversions satisfying the particular instincts of the individual,” he said. “We will be more collectivistic in the operation of our essential productive life and more individualistic in the pursuit of personal happiness and contentment. Leisure will stimulate educational interests in every conceivable direction.”

Nearly nailed it with the eggs. Big wtf at egg prices right now. Government must be trying to lower our testosterone levels.

EDIT: reading through the article and now I'm convinced Andrei Arlovski is a time traveling midgetView attachment 960702

Must be an ancestor, I know people were shorter back in history. Though I think this is taking it a bit far.

It's funny that people think that we should blanketly have four hour work days. Sure, if you don't have enough to do that day, work four hours. But maybe you'll have to work ten the next day.
