Elections 2020 Democratic Primary Thread: The Announcements

Mike Gravel called out Clinton and Obama, and the MSM made him out to be a crazy uncle, even though he is a historically significant statesman, who put the Pentagon Papers into the Congressional Record.

It's not going to be a matter of just winning our hearts in the debates; Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders should be lessons on how nominations are stolen in the caucuses and primaries.

It's not going to be a matter of just getting the votes; it's going to be a matter of having a seat at the table where votes are counted.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. To say she’s facing an uphill battle is an understatement.

The thing she has going for her, nobody likes or respects democrat leadership (much like McConnell), they are the old guard, the swamp. There is an opportunity for someone to break out and take the reigns of the democrat party. Bernie almost did it, but he went out without a fight. If she just plops her big old lady nuts on the podium and tells the whole establishment left “what right do you have to lead the future of our party. You’re complicit in the messes we’ve made, and brought us historic losses in elections. We need a New Democrat party” etc

I think pairing that with a Bill Clinton style democrat message is an attractive ticket.

Combine a "Bill Clinton style democrat message" with a full-throated denunciation of Bill Clinton-era Democrats and Democratic policy? Bold move, Bob.

Just for the record, how was Bernie Sander's nomination "stolen"? Please use references to back up your assertions.

Rumors about Amy Klobuchar's being a abusive bitch to her staff strike me as very believable. She has a very fake vibe about her, always reminded me of Hillary who anyone that isn't a complete hack and worked for will admit is a complete bitch from hell. Lucky she also has the press to cover for her.

her staff call her the Plymouth Butchar.

Brazile sums it up near the end: “If the fight had been fair, one campaign would not have control of the party before the voters had decided which one they wanted to lead. This was not a criminal act, but as I saw it, it compromised the party’s integrity.”

There a lot of Tulsi support I’m seeing off the bat. Does anyone think she has the best chance of getting the nomination?
I sense she'll do better than people like @Jack V Savage and Bari Weiss expect. That's because significant parts of the MSM seem to be engaging in a transparent attempt to undermine her candidacy. Very reminiscent of 2016 and the Sanders candidacy.

Biggest problem for Gabbard is that Sanders is probably running.

Gabbard is getting a percent right now if she's lucky. The only way her poll numbers improve significantly is if most of these candidates drop out. No one cares too much about her anti-intervention-yet-pro-quasi-intervention platform

Lol. Literally every single person in the OP wipes the floor with Trump. The experiment is over. Time to get back to reality now.

It really is amazing though. We went from one of the 2 or 3 best Presidents ever (Obama) to one of the worst 2 or 3 (Bush?).

She has the same problem as everyone not named Bernie, or Biden. 80% of the country doesn't know who they are.

It is a near impossible mountain to climb, as Bernie showed in 16.

I don't think anyone knows what is going to happen though. American politics is a boiling pot of chaos, no one knows what is possible right now.

Wow you're back. I legit thought you committed suicide

I think this kind of CT thinking isn't really worth responding to. Someone disconnected enough from reality to believe that the MSM is trying to undermine Gabbard's candidacy for some mysterious reason (maybe they just think she's great and that bothers them because of their evility?) and did the same to Sanders isn't someone a normal person can reason with.

What key 2020 candidates are saying about the Green New Deal
The Hill

Cliffs:
Harris- co-sponsored/supports
Warren- co-sponsored/supports
Booker- co-sponsored/supports
Gillibrand- co-sponsored/supports
Klobuchar- expected to join/support
Castro- no comment released
Gabbard- no comment released
Buttigieg- supports but mentions it's broad
Delaney- supports "energy" of plan but not direct support

I wouldn't consider the last four to be "key" candidates, and it is disturbing that some actual key candidates are OK with this nonsense.

That's ignorant.

Gabbard has enthusiastic support from prominent commentators much more influential than you: Jimmy Dore, Glenn Greenwald, Kyle Kulinski. Joe Rogan, Cenk Uygur, John Iadarola and Michael Shure all also like her.

We could turn this into a bet easily. I'll bet she polls over 1% in the RCP average while Harris/Booker/Gillibrand/Castro/Klobuchar are still in the race.

Reality : Democrats want Socialism

Reality : The American People don't.

More than Likely Reality : Trump gets re-elected because of this.

Definite Reality : Democrats in Sherdog will Rage and I will drink in their Leftist Tears.

Of that group, I've only heard of Greenwald (clown whose role is to be the "left-winger" the right loves because he's mostly trying to undermine the left), Rogan (comedian), Uygur (only know him because WRers post vids of him making a fool of himself), and Dore (only know him through you). If those are the people you think are "influential" commentators among the left, that explains your deep misunderstanding of the American left.
