Anyone else been keeping up?

Some pretty good ippons, but for the most part, a lot of neutralized judo. Personally, I don't like the lightest weight classes because it's not necessarily the best judo in terms of technique.

We'll see Travis and Kayla up in a few days.

Also, damn, some of the Euro women are not bad lookers at all. Best thing about lowest weight women's judo weight classes IMO.

 

Nice escape from the bottom from the Romanian in the -52kg finals from yesterday's highlights.

Good judgment from the ref for the Sabrina Fizmoser (AUT) vs Hedvig Karakas (HUN) match. Pretty much allowed the match to go almost exclusively newaza.

 

Some good judo from Marti Malloy (USA) in some of her previous matches, but Pavia deserved the bronze over her. Marti is the only one from the medal stands at the 2012 Olympics who didn't medal today.

 

Yeah, just watched it too and it seemed like she was being more cautious.

 

Marti seemed out of sorts in some of her previous matches, too.

The all Japan U73kg Mens final is going to be insane.

Ono is an absolute phenom and has looked as good as ever today, starts in a few minutes.

 

Any Dutch dudes I can root for? Or women.

 

How tall are these guys? I missed it if they showed the tale of the tape.

 

Finished for today but most of the Dutch guys are in the higher weight categories.

Van T End is in with a good shot of a gold at -90kg though, he buried Iliadis the other week with a nice sode tsurikomi goshi.

Henk Grol usually does pretty well at -100kg as well.

 

Figures. I know Grol. Don't know Van 't End. Know Iliadis though. Sounds good, gotta keep my eyes out for him then. Thanks.
