If the bear senses one ounce of fear he would've mauled him to death.
I notice its like that with most animals, if they sense you're scared they will
instigate on it.

My friend has a pit bull in her yard that was abused and is only cool with her.
When i went outside it went bananas but i was drunk and got on one knee and told
it to come closer. It coward itself into a corner.

I would have never done it sober lol.
