2013 goals thread

New goals:

90kg bodyweight.
200kg squat
1.5x BW bench (135kg)

Deadlift :150kg
Bench: 90kg
Squat: 130kgs

10kg out on the Deadlift, it seems to be sticking at 140 at the minute but hopefully i'll get past 140kgs soon.

Bench is only 2.5kg away, hopeful i'll pass it by next month.

Squats, squatted 135kgs this morning so at least that ones done.

220kg dead lift
200kg squat
125kg bench

basically 15% on top of all of my lifts, I've been back training properly for around 3 months now after a 6month break and am still very much a beginner strength trainee so think these should be very achievable.

320lb Bench
415lb Squat
475lb Deadlift
195lb Press

Should be easily attainable if I just maintain some kind of consistency.

Hope everyone else is making good progress.

325lb Bench
465lb Squat
525lb Deadlift
??? Press (took a hiatus from training the press)

I guess I should have set higher goals.

Will probably tweak these goals based on how my end of year PRs go.

Squat 450 (current 395)
Bench 250 (current 235)
Deadlift 500 (current 440)
Press 180 (current 160)
Jerk 300 (current 264)

Current PRs
Squat: 413
Bench: 250 (paused)
Deadlift: 475 (conventional), 440 (sumo)
Press: 176
Haven't jerked in ages.

Pretty happy with the gains I've made so far this year while maintaing my BW.

Revising my squat goal down to 440 which should be obtainable as long as my knees and back don't give me any grief.

Would be ecstatic to hit a 260 paused bench before the end of the year. Long shot goal of 275 touch and go.

500 will fall on the deadlift, whether it's conventional or sumo (more likely).

May go for a press PR in December, but it's not a priority right now (same with the jerk).

275 dead YES, 280
200 squat YES, 205
135 bench YES
95 press not yet
Do a handstand YES
Total 600 at a PL meet YES 605

Met majority of my goals this year. Feels good to exceed my expectations. How's everybody else doing?

From my log (never posted in this thread):
Goals (2013):[/COLOR]
1000 lbs total (completed 4 Mar 13, gym total)
200 SOHP
300 Bench
400 Squat
450 Deadlift
Do a powerlifting competition (completed 6 July 13, Write-up)
1-arm chin-up (both arms)
Dunk a basketball
Start training the oly lifts (then set some reasonable goals)

I did a meet on Dec 7, hit 391 Squat, 265 Bench and a 435 Deadlift. In the gym I've hit 175x3 for press, 290 on bench and 445 on deadlift. So, I've hit 2 goals of several. I'll try to hit these goals in my Jan meet (other than dunking).

Bump!

Bench was the important one so I'm happy with that. My weight is actually up to 210 which is disappointing but I only have my junk food eating ways to blame for that. I was pretty consistent with Muay Thai but my schedule kept me from sparring.

Goals for Dec 2013
Squat: 355
Bench: 225
Deadlift: 475
Bodyweight: < 205 lb

I might test my deadlift and bench before the end of June and if I hit new PRs I'll update my goals.

I hit a 215 bench in the Spring and felt like I was on pace for 225 later in the year but then I aggravated my shoulder in August and just got back to benching in November.

I was well on my way to hitting squat and deadlift PRs but then I tweaked my back (lifting) and my left knee (hockey) in the same week in early November so that set me back about a month. I feel good now but don't think I'll hit any PRs before the end of the month.

My weight floats around 213-215 so I didn't hit that one either.

So yeah 0/4. Fuck you 2013, everyone knows the even numbered years are better.

Was that your provincials in December or is it the jan meet?

Edit: you tellem, doc.

In related news, it originally wrote an exclamation mark in my edit, but I couldn't go through with it. I'm still not comfortable with using punctuation that implies emotion, too intimate.

Squat: 185 => 200
DL: 140 => 200
SOHP: 72.5 => 85

Power Clean: 90x2 => 110
Power Snatch: 60x2 => 80

Bench: 100 => max without health issues (120 would be great)
100m Sprint: blown hammies => 100% intensity without health issues (under 11.5 would be great)

Squat => 190 - planning to be at 200 within the next ~2 months
DL => 200 - check
SOHP => 80 - will get there eventually

Power Clean => 120 - feelsgoodman.jpg
Power Snatch => 85 - feelsgoodman. jpg

Bench => 112.5 - shoulder AIDS
100m Sprint => did not happen - knee/shin/achilles/foot AIDS

During this year I pretty much couldn't really train upper and lower body for a total of ~6 months each due to injuries. I'm almost surprized that I could make any improvement at all.

PS: it's unthinkable to me right now how 90x2 was my power clean PR just last January.

End of 2013 goals:
Squat: 425
Bench: 285
Deadlift: 495
Clean & Jerk: 225
Snatch: 185
1 mile run: 6:00
2 mile run: 14:00
3 mile run: 22:00
body weight: <220 lbs

Fuck, I literally did not achieve any of these. :(
I obviously didn't put enough effort in.

For 2014 I'm going to keep the above strength goals and actually make a full-assed effort to achieve them this time. But I don't have a treadmill and don't run enough to care about the running goals anymore. I just like to lift weights and grapple.

So I am going to stop giving a shit about my weight, and just get as strong as possible while keeping my BF% in check. For BJJ competitions I will just do the weight class I'm in, no more of this dieting to drop down a class. I did that once this year and the amount of strength I lost was ridiculous. I will no longer let that be an excuse for not achieving my strength goals. I'll get strong enough to handle big opponents anyway.

Good goals, mate.

I'm looking to total 1,000lbs, clean and jerk 1.5xBW, score a KO, and finally get around to that damned one-arm chin-up.

Total is now close to 1,100lbs (385 + 235 + 456.5), haven't worked at clean and jerks (although did clean 1.5xBW at one point), scored my first KO, but never did the one-arm chin.

Not a bad year, I guess.

From my log,

PRs to tie after weight loss:
Squat: 140kg -> 150kg
DL: 180kg -> 190kg
BD: 110kg -> failed
OHP: 75 kg -> failed
PC: 80kg -> done

PS: technique -> 55kg x3
10 ChinUps and Dips -> done
Doing real KipUps and Leg Raises -> no kipups, but leg raises are done

Failed to tie my old press and bench PRs, but the rest went pretty well.

Total is now close to 1,100lbs (385 + 235 + 456.5), haven't worked at clean and jerks (although did clean 1.5xBW at one point), scored my first KO, but never did the one-arm chin.

Not a bad year, I guess.

Well, you still have a few days left...

Win a fight by knockout. Fail. Retired. Lol.

Squat 140kg Complete
Bench 105kg Fail
Deadlift 185kg Complete

Squat: 120 => 150 x 1
Bench: 85 => 95 x 1
Deadlift: 155 => 185 x 1
Press: 57.5 x 1 => 57.5 x 5

Bodyweight: 75kg => 90kg.

I may beat that DL PR this coming week. Haven't tested it in 2 months. Despite failing the Bench Press goal, I am still happy given that my pressing training suffered from a broken thumb and a recurring elbow injury.
